Bio

Yuri Medianik was born in 1983 in a musical family - his parents and sister are musicians. Continuing the tradition of his musical dynasty, at the age of two years old Yuri began to study playing bayan, at the age of eight on violin. As an instrumentalist Medianik has achieved rapid success, already at the age of 10 years old he was on concert tour in Germany and Bulgaria. He won more than 5 international competitions of accordionists, and has released 3 CD&rsquos with his own transcriptions of music by Bach, Scarlatti, Tchaikovsky, Liszt, Piazzolla and others. He performs with the orchestras under the baton of Vladimir Spivakov, David Handel, Guido van den Bosch and others. Yuri began to study his conducting classes with Professor Sergei Skripka (disciple of Leo Ginzburg) in the Russian Gnessin Academy of in 2000. His experience and international connections with the orchestras of different countries allow him to realize his conductor projects in real life: In 2007 he became the founder and first conductor of the chamber orchestra "Pluri_Art Orchestra". Since 2013 he is an Art Director of the orchestra "Russian Field". Since 2014 he is a conductor and Art Director of the "Orchestra of the Noble Assembly". As a result of his interest in the art of opera, Medianik became the conductor of the Moscow Kolobov Novaya Opera Theatre since 2015 to the present times. Medianik was a member of the last conductor master classes of Maestro Kurt Mazur (August, 2015, Sweden). Yuri worked as an assistant of conductor to Alexandru Samoilā (Moldova) at the Gala concert of the Epiphany's festival with the soloists of the Novaya Opera Theatre (2016) and also an assistant conductor of Jan Latham-Koenig (UK) in the Opera "La Cenerentola" Rossini. Among the performance in which the Yuri participates - «La Bohéme» by Puccini, «Lucia di Lammermoor» by Donizetti, "The Nutcracker" by Tchaikovsky. Yuri collaborates with such orchestras as: the Israel Camerata Jerusalem, Kaliningrad Symphony Orchestra, Volga Philharmonic, Samara Virtuosos orchestra, ‘Russian Camerata’ chamber orchestra, Taurida International Symphony Orchestra, Netanya Israel Kibbutz Orchestra. The soloists with whom the Yuri collaborate: Erwin Schrott (baritone, Uruguay), Federico Lepre (tenor, Italy), Avi Avital (mandolin, Israel), Olga Sheps (piano, Germany), Vanessa Benelli Mosel (piano, Italy), Maxim Paster (tenor, Russia), Irina Samoylova (soprano, Russia). The future plans for the 2015-2016 musical season are: debut with the Moscow City Symphony Russian Philharmonic , debut with the National orchestra of the Republic of Bashkortostan, takes a part as a concert director and a conductor of the"Waltzes, Foxtrot and tango" concert program at the Novaya Opera Theatre. At the present Medianik is an assistant of the People’s Artist of Russia, Professor Vladimir Ponkin (disciple of Gennady Rozhdestvensky)
