Wendy Waller’s vocal art lies in the rare combination of a fully flexible dramatic soprano over a three octave range that expresses itself through a unique timbre over a vast palette of colors. Since her professional European debut with the Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar, she became a member of the house's fest ensemble, and performed traditional Mozartean roles such as Konstanze, Countess Almaviva and Musetta as well as dramatic works such as "Was Ihr Wollt". The now internationally established soprano previously best known through her signature role as the Queen of the Night in Mozart’s "Die Zauberflöte" has expanded her repertoire beyond Bel Canto heroines(Anna Bolena, Norma) to include increasingly challenging roles by Poulenc (La Voix Humaine), Strauss (Die Frau ohne Schatten, Capriccio), Verdi, (Lady Macbeth,Nabucco) Puccini (Turandot) and Wagner(Sieglinde,Elisabeth). Among the international theaters where she has performed are the Opéra National de Lyon, Grand Théâtre du Genève, Nationaltheater Mannheim, and the Vanemuine Theatre (Estonia) .
Live orchestral concert, recital and oratorio performances with leading European orchestra featuring Ms. Waller's linguisitically diverse repertoire from Bach, Handel and Mahler to modern composers have been broadcast on radio and televison. She has worked with conductors such as Hartmut Hähnchen, Adam Fischer, Bernard Kontarsky and Jac v. Steen. Ms. Waller is the soprano soloist on the debut recordings of "Phoenix Resurrexit", with the Weimar Staatskappelle, the world premiere of the opera "Les Nègres" with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, a live recording of Handel’s "Messiah" and as the Narrator in Bernstein's "Kaddish" Symphony issued as the Promotional CD for the Thuringian Ministry of Culture in 2016. Her first solo CD project, Génie Oblige!: Franz Liszt: Origin, Oeuvre and Legacy in Song released in 2009 earned that year’s only Diplôme d´Honneur from the Franz Liszt Society of Budapest in its 34th Franz Liszt International Grand Prix du Disque. She presented Franz Liszt's vocal art in a documentary of his life produced and televised by ARTE-TV for the bicentennial year celebration.
