«What made this rather colorful evening fun was the fact that Marina Viotti is "at home" in all genres. Her voice sounds warm and full, is lean and extremely versatile. She also has virtuosic coloratura as we could hear in Rossini "Una voce poco fa".»

«At the top of this soloists septet, was, as expected, the heroin Isabella. Indeed, Marina Viotti assured her part with poise and unpretentious, but very naturally, with generosity, fineness, and elegance. Moreover, her mezzo-soprano voice, warm and present in all registers, with a mellow and sensual low, as well as explosive highs»

“A real personality, an artist through and through”(Nuances magazine)

Marina was born in Switzerland, her parents both being musicians, and grew up in France. Curious by nature, she did not only study classical music (flute), but also explored jazz, metal or chanson.
After a Master's degree for philosophy and literature, she went to Vienna where she started her vocal education with Heidi Brunner in 2010. In 2013 Marina got accepted in Lausanne HEMU in the singing class of Brigitte Balleys for a soloist Master degree. She currently works on her belcanto technic with Raul Gimenez in Spain.

Marina won this year the 3d price of the Concours de Genève, after winning the first Price at the Mâcon International competition in 2015, and the International Belcanto Price at the Rossini Festival of Wildbad. The young mezzo is lauréate of the Bourse Mosetti, the Weltner Stiftung, the Bourse Migros and the Bourse Leenards.

She sang her first roles at the Opéra de Lausanne : Dritte Dame (Zauberflöte), L’enfant et les sortilèges (Mother and Dragonfly) and Martha in Faust, and got a first title role in summer 2015 as Isabella (L’italiana in Algeri) at the Rossini Festival of Wildbad (De), a role she sang again in 2107 and at the Luzerner Theater, where she also did Maddalena in Rigoletto. Next season she will be part of the Young Soloist Ensemble at Geneva Opera, sing Elizabetta (Maria Stuarda) and John Dowland project in Luzern Opera, Olga (Onegin) in Strasbourg and will make her debut in the Liceu (Barcelona) with Mélibéa in Il VIaggio a Reims (Rossini). She is now singing Arsace in Aureliano in Palmira (Rossini) at the Wildbad festival 2017.

The warm and fine voice of Marina has also been heard in several concerts as a soloist: El amor brujo (De Falla) with the OSI, Beethoven Messe en C, La Petite Messe solennelle, Der Rose Pilgerfahrt (Schumann), Kindertotenlieder (Mahler), The seven sayings of Christ (Haydn) with the OCL, Zelenka Requiem with the Capriccio orchestra, Verdi Requiem, Les Nuits d’été (Berlioz) with Macon orchestra, Poème de l’amour et de la mer (Chausson) with Bremen and many more.

Wishing to build bridges between “musical and mental borders”, and to explore new colours, Marina creates shows and recitals which link opera, operette, cabaret, chanson and jazz : “Twirling from one style to another with a disarming naturalness and perfect musical ease” (Nuances magazine). She is regularly invited by european venues and festivals (Lavaux Classics, Solothurn Classics, Label Suisse, Barcelona, Périgord Noir, Aix-la-Chapelle) to perform her recital “Love has no borders” and “De Bach à Piaf, chansons d’amour”.
