Bio

Viktor Mickovski was born in Skopje, Macedonia. From an early age he began studying classical guitar and subsequently followed his self-directed studies of vocal music. At the age of 18 he won the first prize at the French chanson Singing competition in Skopje. He later moved to Italy, to fulfill his academic studies at the Conservatory Licinio Refice with the soprano Silvia Ranalli and continued to improve the vocal technique under the diligent guidance of Maestro Antonio Boyer, Baritone. Viktor was accepted and continued his studies at the prestigious Santa Cecilia Music Conservatory in Rome, Italy . After obtaining a Diploma in Vocal Music, he continued his studies at the Florence Opera Academy (FLOA) under the expert guidance of soprano Silvia Bossa where he continued to expand his vocal repertoire and technique. He participated in masterclasses held by tenor Giuseppe Sabbatini and sopranos Daniela Dessi and Mirella Parutto. In 2001, he began his concert career by taking part in Interfest-Bitola an event celebrating the centennial anniversary of the death of Giuseppe Verdi that was organized by the Italian Embassy in Macedonia. Viktor continued to perform a number of concerts at the Licino Refice Conservatory such as the Liebeslieder Waltzes Op.52 (J. Brahms) and scenes of Elisir D&rsquoAmore (G. Donizetti). In 2005 at the Teatro Romano di Ostia Antica performed in Carmina Burana by Carl Orff. Later in 2006, he was invited to sing at the Festival of the Diocese of Rome in honor of Pope John Paul II and performed the role of Don Basillo in The Marriage of Figaro (W. A. Mozart) conducted by Maestro Paolo Subrizzi. The same year, Viktor performed the same opera the XIIth Severino Gazzelloni Festival. More recently in March 2012, he performed the role of Percy in Anna Bolena (G. Donizetti) at the Piccolo Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence, Italy as part of the theater’s Before the First concert. Subsequently, he participated in an international project called Young Lucia organized by FLOA and sang the role of Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor at Pioggio Imperiale in Florence. He performed the role of Nemorino in the semi staged opera Elisir d’Amore (G.Donizetti) at the Teatro Arcadia (Modena) with M’Andrea Trovato. He won the casting organized by International Artistic and Cultural Centre of Rome to sing in the world premiere of Marco Polo D.Zanettovich the Municipal Theatre in Rijeka in 2013. The same year was among the winners at the International Competition "Primo Palcoscenico 2013," destined for the production of Verdi's opera Falstaff at the Municipal Theatres of Cesena, Ferrara and Pesaro in the 2013/14 season. Latter that year was among the finalist at V International Competition "Tommaso Traetta" in Bari, Italy. In 2014 participated in the concert Cantatissimo at the festival Days of Macedonian Music at the City Museum of Skopje. He collaborated in various productions with the ensemble of the Opera of Florence under the direction of M°Zubin Mehta, M°Claudio Abbado, M°Daniele Gatti etc. In the last two years worked as assistant professor at the Florence Opera Academy in Florence.
