Bio

Victor's first solo appearance as a singer was in Carmina Burana for an audience of 2000 people, still as a student of Classical Singing at the Universidade Tom Jobim in Sao Paulo (EMESP), Brazil. After living a successful career as a Dentist, Victor joined the internationally awarded professional Symphonic Choir of the State of Sao Paulo, OSESP (Brazil) in 2002. In 2011, after being awarded a scholarship he completed the APS Opera Studio in London, where he studied with many influential directors, coaches and singers. Victor receives singing orientation from Robert Dean (GSMD). Victor's engagements for 2015/16 include: Renato (Cover) in Un Ballo in Maschera (Verdi) for Midsummer Opera, Handel's Messiah (Philharmonia Chorus) in Valencia, Sharpless in Madama Butterfly (Puccini) for Secret Opera, a recital with soprano Tais Bandeira comprising of duets and solos from Verdi Operas in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Amonasro in Aida (Verdi) for the New London Opera Players and the title role of Macbeth (Verdi) for Pavilion Opera on tour next summer. 2012 saw Victor's debut at the Barbican Theatre, singing excerpts of Hansel and Gretel (Father) at the Halloween Special. He is described by critics for “deliciously executing” the role of Polyphemus and making of it a “perfect marriage between text and music” (Bachtrack). Also, “his charming Escamillo gives us a matador with bold baritone presence” (LDN Card) and for having a “restraint and truly well placed baritone voice” giving a “well developed performance and a convincing character”, “an opera singer to look out for” (Fringe Opera).
