Bio

The dramatic soprano Vera Wenkert has sung and presented more than 30 leading roles in opera performances - especially in dramatic roles.. Vera Wenkert was heard in concerts in Bregenz, Geneva, Copenhagen, Luxembourg, Nice, Paris, Bordeaux, New York and Zurich. They could be seen in the Italian repertoire as Amelia (Un ballo in maschera), Leonora (La forza del destino) and Lady Macbeth (Macbeth) and in the title roles of Madama Butterfly and Turandot. In 2010, she gave her debut as Ariadne auf Naxos in Antikenfestspiele Trier. Madame Wenkert has sung Tosca, Marie in Wozzeck and Senta with Franz Grundheber. 2013, Mrs. Wenkert gave her debut as Brünnhilde both in "Siegfried" and in "Götterdämmerung" in a gala concert at the Stadttheater in Trier. 2014, she was seen with Brünnhilde's final song, Götterdämmerung, R. Wagner, in the festival "Les Nuits de Cheronne". 2015, Vera Wenkert sang Isolde in a concert version of Tristan and Isolde (Richard Wagner) under the direction of Douglas Martin in New York / Lincoln Center Area. At the Zurich Opera, Mrs. Wenkert sang the role of Turandot in "Storytelling with Music" 2016, she gave concerts in the USA, in Germany and in Switzerland. Now her career is focused on the Wagnerian repertoire in which Vera Wenkert already has shown Senta (The Flying Dutchman), Sieglinde (The Valkyrie), the dual role Venus & Elisabeth (Tannhäuser) and Elsa (Lohengrin).
