Bio

Russian Soprano Valentina Fetisova obtained her diploma in 2012 at the Hochschule für Musik Würzburg, Germany. In addition to her studies with Prof. Leandra Overmann and Prof. Klesie Kelly-Moog, she studied interpretation of art song with Gerold Huber and attended masterclasses held by Grace Bumbry, Michael Volle, Larissa Dyadkova, Sergei Leiferkus and Michael Sylvester. She is currently based in Bologna, Italy, where she is studying with M° William Matteuzzi. Recently, Valentina Fetisova took part in the International Young Artists Festival ISING 2016 performing in concerts in Beijing and Suzhou, China, that were broadcast on national television. She sang Fiordiligi in excerpts from Cosi fan tutte, as well Mandarin repertoire, with Maestro Massimilliano Murrali and the Jiangsu Performing Arts Group Symphony Orchestra. During the 2012-2013 season she was a member of the opera studio at Theater Lübeck as Mezzo-soprano, gaining valuable stage experience singing roles such as Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel), Carmela (La vida breve), Dama di Lady Macbeth (Macbeth), Blumenmädchen (Parsifal) and Magd (Elektra). Since then she has been singing in the Soprano Fach; roles such as Tatiana (Eugene Onegin), Agathe (Der Freischutz) and Fiordiligi (Cosi fan tutte) are now a staple part of her repertoire. She appeared in Le Grand Macabre at Theater Freiburg, Das Rheingold für Kinder at Theater Lübeck and sang at the Rheingau Musikfestival and Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival. She also sang as soloist in Mozart's Requiem in a concert tour in Kyoto and Kanazawa, Japan. Valentina Fetisova is the winner of the 2012 Junge Musiker Stiftung Bayreuth scholarship, a laureate of the Armin Knab Competition and the 2011 winner of the Preis der Musikalischen Akademie Würzburg competition.
