Bio

Northern Irish baritone Timothy Connor is a member of  Oberösterreichische Opernstudio in Linz, Austria. Plans for 18/19 season include appearances as Der Mann, Die Wand (Christian Diendorfer),  Nanda, The Transposed Heads (Peggy Glanville-Hicks) Alte diener, Elektra (Strauß), Soloist in 'Dioclesian' (Purcell), Casimir , Die Polnische Hochzeit (Beer) Hoël, Le Pardon de Ploërmel (Meyerbeer) at the Landestheatre, Linz and Donner in Wagner's Rheingold in a concert performance in Birmingham Symphony Hall under Michael Lloyd. He recently gave performances of Lliam Paterson's 'Bambino' (Pulchino) at the Theatre du Châtelet, Paris and The Metropolitan Opera, New York, a role he created with Scottish Opera/Improbable for the Manchester International Festival; and in the same season made his German debut as Dancairo (Carmen) with Oper Wuppertal.  His operatic roles include Angelotti (Tosca) for English Touring Opera, Pulcino (Bambino) for Scottish Opera/Improbable, Dulcamara cover (The Elixir of Love) for Scottish Opera, Sid (Albert Herring), Papageno (Die Zauberflöte) Licaone (Giove in Argo), Hel Helson (Paul Bunyan)  and Peter (Hänsel & Gretel) all for the Royal College of Music, London.  He made his Barbican Debut in Iain Burside's 'A Soldier and a Maker' and last season shared the stage with Dame Kiri Te Kanawa and Sir Thomas Allen as Frank in John Copley's production of Die Fledermaus. Recent recital highlights include a performance at the International Artist Platform with Simon Lepper, a recital of Schubert's 'Winterreise'  with Roger Vignoles and appearances at the London Song Festival and the Schubert Society of Great Britain. Timothy recently performed with the European Baroque Ensemble in a concert tour of  'Mozart by Candlelight’. Timothy studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and graduated from the Royal College of Music's International Opera School. He is a Britten Pears Young Artist (ENOA) and was recipient of a HelpMusicians Postgraduate Performance award, a Les Azuriales Young Artist, winner of the Kerry-Keane Award and finalist in the 2016 Lies Askonas Prize.



Timothy studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and graduated from the Royal College of Music's International Opera School. He is a Britten Pears Young Artist (ENOA) and was recipient of a HelpMusicians Postgraduate Performance award, a Les Azuriales Young Artist, winner of the Kerry-Keane Award and finalist in the 2016 Lies Askonas Prize.
