Bio


The Norwegian baritone Thomas Roeshol started his studies at the University in Tromsø where he studied with Prof. Anne-Lise Sollied and Prof. Carlo Allemano before he went to Stuttgart in Germany where he did his master studies in opera at the State University of Music and Performing Arts under the guidance of Prof. Turid Karlsen and Prof. Bernhard Jaeger-Böhm. 

During his studies in Stuttgart he did among other things the roles Dancaïre in Carmen by Bizet, Bartolo in Le nozze di Figaro by Mozart and Lindorf, Crespel and Dappertutto in Les contes d'Hoffmann by Offenbach. In Norway he toured as Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro with the Arctic Opera, and sang the role of Marco in Gianni Schicchi by Puccini at The National Stage in Bergen. In 2015 he was a soloist with the Stuttgart Philharmoniker in their concert series "Mozart für Kinder" which went on tour in Baden-Württemberg. 

He has worked with conductors like Nicholas Kok, Christian Lindberg, Bernhard Epstein and Per Borin, and stage directors like Matthias Schönfeld, Dagny Müller, ROCC, Bernd Schmitt, Sigrid Strøm Reibo and Katharina Jakhelln Semb.

Thomas has participated in master classes with Karan Armstrong, Barbara Hendricks, Thomas Moser, David Wakeham, Graciela Aray, Margreet Honig, Janet Williams and Mary Mills,

Besides opera Thomas is also a sought after singer for oratories in Norway. In his repertoire are amongst other The St Matthew Passion by Bach, Messiah by Händel, the Christmas Oratorio by Bach and Oratorio de Noël by Saint-Saëns.
