SUMA MELLANO

Italian Mezzosoprano, born in India, Suma Mellano starts her singing studies at the Conservatory "G.F.Ghedini" in Cuneo (Italy) with Giovanna De Liso, before graduating with honours (DIPLÔME D'ÉTUDES MUSICALES) from the Conservatory of Nice (France) in the singing class of Elizabeth Vidal in 2014.
She perfected her vocal technique by following prestigious Masterclasses with:
Luisa Castellani, Manuela Custer, Elizabeth Vidal, André Cognet, Andrea Elena, Luis Alva, Sharon Mohar, Damon Nestor Ploumis, Sir Alexander Oliver, Luciana Serra.
She was the Squirrel in M.Ravel's opera "L’Enfant et les Sortilèges", a production staged at the Conservatory of Nice in 2011, a CigeriÈre in G.Bizet's opera "Carmen" at the Théâtre Anthéa in Antibes in 2013. She distinguished herself in her interpretation of Der Trommler in V.Ullmann's opera "Der Kaiser von Atlantis" at the Teatro Rosetum in Milan in February 2015. She played the role of Tisbe in the G.Rossini's opera "La Cenerentola" at the Theater Rudolstadt in Saalfeld, in Germany, on February 2017.
She performed as solist in several opera concerts in France, with the CALM Association, in the North of Italy and in Norway. She also sang in many baroque concerts in the South of France (Nice, Aix-en-Provence).
In September 2015, she won the 2nd Prize of the International Song Competition "T.O.S.C.A" (Italy). In December 2016, she won the 1st Prize of the International Singing Competition "Virginia Zeani" in Torino (Italy). She was a finalist of the International Song Competitions "Enzo Sordello" in Cuneo in 2016 and "Riccardo Zandonai" in Riva del Garda in 2017.
Since the 2015, she works as Classical Singing Teacher in the "C.Marenco" Music School in Ceva (Italy).
Actually, she is part of the Classe OpÉra by the Maîtres sonneurs in Toulouse, and she works on her repertory with Sophie Brissot, singing teacher, pianist and vocal coach.
She's actually performing in several concerts in Italy (Torino, Savona) and France (Toulouse, Cheverny, Aix-en-Provence) and she's going to sing the Alto Part of the Petite Messe Solennelle by G.Rossini in Zurich.
