Bio

Soprano Sigrid Plundrich has been praised for her &ldquoseamless vocal artistry and convincing theatrical presence”.  She is equally at home in concert repertoire as on the opera stage, and enjoys a diverse repertoire ranging from the baroque to the contemporary. Ms. Plundrich was an ensemble member of the Munich State Opera at Gärtnerplatz from 2007-2009 and has been a guest of the opera theaters of Würzburg, Erlangen and Augsburg, as well as the Palacio de la Opera in La Coruña, Spain.  Her roles include Konstanze (The Abduction from the Seraglio), Countess (The Marriage of Figaro), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Tatjana (Eugene Onegin) and Helena (A Midsummer Night’s Dream). On the concert stage, Ms. Plundrich has appeared with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie of Bremen, the Konzerthaus Orchestra of Berlin, the Munich Symphonikern and Toronto’s Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra with conductors Bruno Weil, Dennis Russell Davies and Christian Thielemann. As a passionate performer of song repertoire, Ms. Plundrich has has given world premier performances of works by Peter Michael Hamel, Moritz Eggert and Günther Bialis. Ms. Plundrich was born in Marktoberdorf, Germany.  She studied voice with Frieder Lang and Wolfgang Brendel and song interpretation with Helmut Deutsch at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München,.  She has also received several scholarships and has participated in masterclasses with Krisztina Laki and Christoph Pregardien.
