«"The star among the other vocal soloists was mezzo-soprano Sharon Carty, who was firm in tone, expressively to the point and with an almost instrumental sureness of delivery."»
(REVIEW APRIL 8TH 2015, THE IRISH TIMES, ST.MATTHEW PASSION (2016)
«"An der Spitze des jungen Sängerensembles brilliert Sharon Carty mit ihrem geradezu sensationellen Rollendebut als Dido; das Ensemble spielt das Stück hingebungsvoll von Shakespeare'scher Hexenmagie mit Urkomik bis zum traurigen Ende."»
Der opernfreund (2016)
«Vocally, however, the evening belongs to mezzo Sharon Carty, who sings with assurance and authority, nowhere less so than in the plangent aria ‘Lascia la spina’ (the music of which Handel re-used in his opera Rinaldo for the lament ‘Lascia ch’io pianga’), which is easily one of the evening’s highlights. Her sparkling agility also comes to the fore in faster movements."»

"The star among the other vocal soloists was mezzo-soprano Sharon Carty, who was firm in tone, expressively to the point and with an almost instrumental sureness of delivery" THE IRISH TIMES http://www.finalnotemagazine.com/talking-trouser-roles-with-sharon-carty/

Winner of the RAAP/RTÉ Lyric FM Classical Breakthrough Music Bursary, Irish mezzo-soprano Sharon Carty studied at the Royal Irish Academy of Music and the Opera School of the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna. She made her stage debut as Maddalena Rigoletto at the Anna Livia International Opera Festival, Dublin, in 2008. She made her Austrian debut as Hänsel Hänsel und Gretel at the Reinsberg Festival in 2009 under the baton of Martin Haselboeck with the Capella Istropolitana and sang Ruggiero Alcina at the BOV Opera Festival, Malta, before being invited to join the Opera Studio of the Frankfurt Opera in September 2010.Her house debut there was as Tebaldo Don Carlo and she sang roles such as Cleone Medée, Second Lady Die Zauberflöte and The Woman Barabbas Dialogues and Bastien Bastien und Bastienne and Aloès L’Etoile in the hugely successful David Alden premiere, while a member of the Opera Studio.Recent role debuts at Oper Frankfurt as Dido Dido and Aeneas, and Oscar in the world-premiere of Oscar und die Dame in Rosa at Theater Freiburg have been met with critical acclaim. Further engagements for the 2013/2014 season included her company debut as Nancy T’ang Nixon in China with Wide Open Opera in Dublin, and an evening celebrating the music of Frederick Delius as part of Oper Frankfurt’s Oper Finale programme. Equally at home on the concert platform, Sharon Carty has performed regularly with orchestras such as the RTÉ Concert Orchestra (including a tour of Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man under the baton of the composer) as well as Capella Istrapolitana, Capella Leopoldina, European Union Chamber Orchestra, Irish Baroque Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland and the Wiener Akademie. Her recordings include Orfea Britannica with VUENV Consort and The stream in the valley, an album of songs and duets by Benjamin Britten and other English composers, on the GENUIN label, released in March 2014, with the support of Music Network and the Arts Council of Ireland.2014/2015 brought guest engagements with role debuts at both Oper Frankfurt (Annina Der Rosenkavalier) and Theater Freiburg (Medoro Orlando), along with J.S.Bach’s St.Matthew Passion on Good Friday 2015 with the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, Handel's "Il trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno" with the Irish Baroque Orchestra, conducted  by John Butt, and several recitals of Schubert songs with award-winning pianist Jonathan Ware.  In 2015/2016 she made company debuts with Irish Youth Opera as Ottone (Agrippina), Landestheater Linz (Hansel) and Ministry of Operatic Affairs (Dorabella) as well as reviving Medoro and Dorabella at Theater Freiburg. 2016/2017 brings a return to Cosi fan tutte both at Theater Freiburg as well as her house debut at Theater Erfurt, a role debut as Sesto in Giulio Cesare at Theater Freiburg, and the role of "Minestra" on the first modern recording of W.S.Gilbert & Alfred Cellier's comic opera "The Mountebanks" with the BBC concert orchestra, conducted by John Andrews. She was recently appointed as a member of Opera Theatre Company’s “Opera Hub” programme. REVIEWS:"All those were strengths in Sharon Carty’s lunchtime recital at the Hugh Lane Gallery on Sunday, when she presented a Schubert programme with pianist Jonathan Ware. But what made this recital special was the way this partnership captured the inner aspects of the songs, from the ecstasy of Ganymed to the serenity of Du bist die Ruh. Adjectives seem inadequate for such focused, intelligent artistry."(Review March 3rd 2015, The Irish Times, Schubert song recital)"Vocally, however, the evening belongs to mezzo Sharon Carty, who sings with assurance and authority, nowhere less so than in the plangent aria ‘Lascia la spina’ (the music of which Handel re-used in his opera Rinaldo for the lament ‘Lascia ch’io pianga’), which is easily one of the evening’s highlights. Her sparkling agility also comes to the fore in faster movements."(Reviw April 18th 2015, www.goldenplec.com "Il trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno)
