The Swiss soprano studied at the „Zürcher Hochschule der Künste“ (Zurich University of the Arts) under Prof. Lina Maria Åkerlund and graduated in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in arts and in 2011 with a master’s degree in „Vocal Music Pedagogy“. She continued her studies at the „Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne“ (Lausanne University of the Arts) under Jeannette Fischer and graduated in 2014 with a master’s degree in „Music Interpretation“. To this day Seraina Perrenoud attends masterclasses from renowned teachers like Heidi Brunner, Meinard Kraak, Mariette Nollen, Roger Vignoles, John Fiore and Adina Nitescu.
Seraina Perrenoud is an awardee of the Friedl Wald Stiftung. In March 2012 she was awarded the „prix spécial jeune espoir“ (best young singer award) at the Concours International de chant des Châteaux en Médoc in Bordeaux (France). In June 2014 she was a finalist at the first national opera competition by the Oper Schloss Hallwyl.
Seraina Perrenoud is a well sought after interpret of Lied and Oratorio. She not only sings well known works like Bach’s „St. John Passion“ or Mendelssohn-Bartholdy’s „Lobgesang“ but also rediscoveries like „St. Mark Passion“ by C.P.E. Bach or „Jan Huss“ by Carl Loewe. In the summer of 2013 Seraina Perrenoud gave her opera debut at the Geneva opera studio. She played the role of Frau Herz in Mozart’s „Schaulspieldirektor“. After that she had the pleasure of working with Benjamin Levy and sang the role of „ le feu“ in „L’enfant et les sortilèges“ by Ravel. In fall 2015 she gave her debut at the Geneva opera house where she played the role of „Parthénis“ in „La belle Hélène“ by Offenbach. In January 2016 she sang the role of „Marinella“ in the world premiere of „Carlotta ou la Vaticane“ by Dominique Gesseney-Rappo at the Fribourg opera house. In 2016 and 2017 she could once again be seen at the Geneva Opera house. She played the role of „Poussette“ in „Manon“ by Massenet and the role of „Barbarina“ in Mozart’s „Le nozze di Figaro“. Further more she gave her debut in the role of „Ljusja“ in Shostakovitsch’s „Moskau, Tscheriomuschky“ with the Opéra Lousie company in Fribourg. In 2018 she will have the pleasure to sing this role again at the Athénée Théâtre Louis-Jouvet in Paris and at the Centre lyrique Clermont-Auvergne. www.seraina-perrenoud.ch
