The Baltimore Sun (2017)
«[Pearson], a remarkable humorist in her own right, possessed a sense of comedic timing and display that immediately enamored her to the audience. An adorable gossip with an infectiously mischievous mega-watt smile and a sense of dramatic flair to match ...[Pearson]’s Lucy traipses the fine line of physical comedy, at once engaging and funny."»

Sara Beth Pearson is a versatile artist known for her rich, warm tone and impressive acting. With Verismo at the core of her repertoire, it is also at the core of her approach to every character she embodies, seeking out what is real and true in even the most convoluted of operatic plots.

Currently based in New York City, Ms. Pearson studied at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University in the studio of master pedagogue, Stanley Cornett. She began her career in the Baltimore/Washington region, and while performing the small role of Sister Catherine in Dead Man Walking, she was invited into the studio of Metropolitan Opera star, Diana Soviero, under whose influence she developed her unique artistry. In 2010, after highly successful debuts as Nedda and Mimi, she joined the forces of the Metropolitan Opera's renowned Chorus. She was a full time chorister for three seasons during which time she was featured in several solos. After this intense period of professional and personal growth, and with a newly minted perspective on the art form, she left the security and prestige of her position in order to foment the work by having a greater personal impact on audiences.
