Sara Bañeras, soprano, Barcelona (16

Nov, 1991) started singing at the age of two following the Suzuki method.

In 2012 she did her operatic début in the Zarzuela “Cançó d’Amor i de Guerra” in which she performed the principal role of Francina. In 2013 she performed Pamina in Siena Music Festival conducted by Michael Rossi. In 2014 she sang Amore, “Orfeo et Euridice” with BOS, Miss Rowan “The little sweep” in collaboration with Sabadell Professional Conservatory, Madame Silberklang “Der Schauspieldirektor” and Frasquita, “Carmen” in Palau de la Música Catalana, conducted by X. Puig of the Terrassa Symphonic Orquestra still regularly performing.
 
In 2015 she debuted Madame Herz - Der Schauspieldirektor in a production for schools and Massira - Tibidabo Lake in Teatre Catòlic de Gràcia, a new operetta by X. Canut. She has also performed Lisinga - Le cinesi of M. Garcia in a coproduction between Els Amics de l’Òpera de Sarrià, theatre of Sarrià (Barcelona) and Festival Rossini in Wildbad (Germany), Kurtheater.  In this festival she also collaborated as Celinda in the premiere of Lindpaintner’s Il vespro Siciliano conducted by F. Longo from which there is a CD. Winner of the 2015 Mirna Lacambra’s contest, studied at the Opera Academy of Sabadell where she performed Marcellina, conducted by M. D Gil Tejada.
In 2016 sings 2n act from la Bohème as Musetta conducted by S. Brotons and Annina in La Traviata in Calella conducted by R. Estrada. She is chosen to participate in Accademia Rossiniana 2016, Pesaro directed by M. A. Zedda to perform Il viaggio a Reims. Recent productions 2017-2018 include Alfonsina from Cimarosa’s “Il Convito” in a tour around Catalonia, Erste Dame in “Die Zauberflöte” and Cosette of “Bohemios” in Palau de la Musica, Valencia.

She has been awarded the 2n prize of Odissea de la veu (2016), 2n prize in IV Concurso internacional de Medinaceli (2017), 4 prizes (2n prize, audience prize and two special prizes) in Concurso Internacional de Música de les Corts (2018), finalist in Concurso Internacional de canto, Logroño (2018).

Sara has participated as an active student at the master-classes from Dr P. Kukkamäki (1996, 1999, 2001), J. Artysz (2007), M. Caballé (2010, 2015), L. Serra (2011), R. Scotto (2013), F. Cedolins (2017), J. Aragall (2014), J.D. Flórez (2016)  T. Berganza (2016), N. Fabiola (2018), E. Fiorillo (2015), R. Giménez (2015), L. Regazzo (2015), F. Roig (2015), K. Tretyakova (2016) and conductors M. Ortega (2012, 2016), A. Zedda ( 2015, 2016), C. Soler (2017) and M. Guidarini (2018).

She has combined her musical career with a degree in economics in Autonoma University of Barcelona (2013). In addition, she has studies of musicology, theatre and an advanced piano level. On the music research field, her investigation project “Singing: an art or a technique?” (2007) was awarded at several national competitions.

Currently she studies a Master in Opera in Conservatorio Superior de Valencia, studying with soprano Ofelia Sala and tenor Dalmacio Gonzalez.
