He has performed solo roles, such as Figaro in Paisiello’s ‘Il barbiere di Siviglia’, The Count and Figaro in ‘Le Nozze di Figaro’, ‘Don Giovanni’, Aeneas in Purcell’s ‘Dido & Aeneas’, Pluto in 'Orfeus' by Telemann, Escamillo in ‘Carmen’ and Fiorello in ‘Il Barbiere di Siviglia” in venues that include the Alte Oper, Frankfurt, Snape Maltings Concert Hall, Dartington Hall, Ashdod Performing Arts Centre and the Jerusalem Theatre. Upcoming Engagements include ‘Papageno’ in ‘The Magic Flute’ with the Jerusalem Opera, Leporello in ‘Don Giovanni’ and “The Emperor of Atlantis” with the Israel Chamber Orchestra as well as Salvaor in ‘La Vida Breve’ by Manuel de Falla with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra. Samuel’s concert repertoire comprises major oratorios and art songs. His recital of ‘Die Schöne Müllerin’ in Frankfurt, Germany was acclaimed, as was his broadcast of Ferdinand Hiller Songs for the West German Radio (WDR). His performances of Bach’s Christmas Oratorio in Jerusalem and Bethlehem with the Weimar Belvedere Orchestra were a particular highlight. He was invited to the live rounds of the Kohn Foundation Song Competition at Wigmore Hall, London, together with Hannah Harnest, with whom he also performs regularly.
