Bio


 Ruth Ingeborg Ohlmann was born in Germany. Since her family emigrated to Canada Ruth Ohlmann received her Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance and her Opera Diploma at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario. She then became a “Stagière” at l’atelier lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal (Montréal, Québec) from where she moved on to the International Opera Studio in Zurich (Switzerland) with the Zurich Opera. During this time she was also a guest at the Vancouver Opera Company. Her first engagement followed in Coburg, Germany. From there she was engaged by the Opera Leipzig which was followed by an engagement to the State Theater at Gärtnerplatz in Munich, and once more was asked back to Opera Leipzig, where she now lives. Ms Ohlmann has participated successfully at international competitions. She can be heard on CD in a live recording of Viennese melodies and Operetta with the „Alt-Wiener Strauß Ensemble“ and as Angèle Didier in a live-recording of “Der Graf von Luxemburg” from the Operettenfestspiele Mörbisch (Austria).
