Born in Suceava, Romania, Rudolf Buchman studied first as violonist. Later, he became the pupil of the famous romanian voice teacher, the baritone Visarion Hutu, who remained his vocal coach over the years. In 2002 he arrives in France in order to pursue his academic studies and he studied first with Albert Lance and Iris Parel and was member of Albert Lance Lyric Company in Antibes and later was admitted to the Nice Music Consevatory where he studied with mezzo-soprano Catherine Decaen and received his degree (D.E.M.) in 2006. Afterwards, he moves to Milan and is admitted to the prestigious Conservatory of Music " Giuseppe Verdi "in Milan Italy, where he discovers the contemporary repertory, under the guidance of a gender specialist, the mezzo-soprano Sonia Turchetta. In the same years  he participated in master classes with Jaume Aragall and Maurizio Arena and followed for a while private lessons with the famous romanian soprano Ileana Cotrubas. In 2009 he makes his italian debut as Jimmy Mahoney in Kurt Weill’s Aufstieg und Mahoney in Fall der Stadt Mahagonny, under the batton of the conductor Jonathan Webb, in a production signed by the director  Alessio Pizzech for Teatro Goldoni of Livorno. During the same season he will sing the same part in Pisa (Teatro Verdi) and Ravenna (Fondazione Teatro Alighieri & Ravenna Festival). Member since October 2009, of the Young Artists Programme of Teatro Goldoni of Livorno (Cantiere Lirico "Pietro  Mascagni"), he continues to re-discover his voice as a young dramatic tenor by studying roles such as Lohengrin, Siegmund, Florestan, der Tambourmajor(Berg's Wozzeck), der Kaiser (Die Frau ohne Schatten by Strauss) and exploring the repertoire the first twentieth-century Italian – Canio (Pagliacci), Turiddu (Cavalleria Rusticana), Radames (Aida), Dick Johnson (La fanciulla del West), Luigi (Il Tabarro), Calaf (Turandot), Cyrano (Cyrano de Bergerac by Alfano), Nerone (Mascagni and Boito), alternating with lighter parts such as Werther (Massenet), Faust (La Damnation de  Faust by Berlioz), Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly), Lensky (Eugene Onegin by Tchaikovsky), Gabriele Adorno (Simon Boccanegra), Rodolfo (Luisa Miller), Riccardo (Un Ballo in Maschera), Foresto (Attila), or some Mozart roles as Idomeneo and Tito Vespasiano. During the same season, it is admitted to the Courses for Young Opera Singers organized by The Grand Theatre "La Fenice" of Venice and the Fondazione Cassamarca and hosted by Teatro Communale of Treviso, under the guidance of the famous basso Roberto Scandiuzzi and the pianist Richard Barker.In July 2010 he sang the title role of Ruggero Leoncavallo’s Mameli in Cosenza, Italy, in the occasion of the first modern performance after the rediscovery of the opera for the anniversary of 150 years from the Unification of Italy. The same year, he received the First Premio „Galliano Masini” for the best tenor voice singing the part of Turiddu (P. Mascagni – Cavalleria Rusticana) awarded by Teatro Goldoni, Livorno and Circolo Musicale „Galliano Masini” Livorno during a Gala Concert  for the 120 Years of Pietro Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana..In August 2011 he participated at the International Festival & Masterclasses “Hariclea Darclée”, Braila, Romania, under the guidance of the soprano Mariana Nicolesco, where he performed a widely acclaimed Mahler recital. The same year he was the winner of the IIIrd Prize at the International Festival dedicated to the Romanian Art Song held in Brasov, Romania, under the High Patronage of the President of Romania.             

He holds also a MA in Modern Literatures.
