«"Le contre-ténor Rodrigo Sosa Dal Pozzo prête une couleur tendre, idéale, à son Flammiro dont, avec un naturel confondant, il dépasse le ridicule par un chant sensible et concentré. Outre la souplesse d’une voix sainement cultivée, l’aisance en scène et le charisme signent sa prestation"» (2016)

Born in Mérida – Venezuela, he is nowadays starting his master degree in opera at Operahögskolan in Stockholm - Sweden under the tutelage of Erik Årman, after recently having finished a master degree in early music singing at the Royal College of Music in the same city, under the tutelage of Susanne Rydén. He has also studied for Marta Almajano, Richard Levitt, Gudrun Bruna among others. Rodrigo had his debut in oratorio at the age of 16, singing the countertenor solo of Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana conducted by Isabel Palacios and at the age of 19, he had his debut in opera, performing the Sorceress in H. Purcell’s Dido & Aeneas conducted by Pablo Larraz together with the Baroque Orchestra of Catalonia. At the age of 20 he became a member of the Swedish Radio Choir, conducted by Peter Dijkstra and the Capella Reïal de Catalunya, conducted by Jordi Savall and in the same year he was one of the finalists of the International Vocal Competition (IVC 2010) in the Netherlands. He has as well performed with several other early music ensembles and orchestras around Europe, as for instance the Ensemble Villancico based in Stockholm – Sweden and conducted by Peter Pontvik, with whom he recorded the Album “Tambalagumbá” in 2013, which was his first appearance as a soloist in a CD recording. He was a finalist of the international baroque opera competition “Pietro Antonio Cesti” held in 2015 in Innsbruck, Austria, as well as he is among the semifinalist of the “Solistpriset” awarded by the “Musikaliska Akademien” in Sweden. He has engagements for several main opera roles and concerts during the season 2016-2017, with the Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alte Musik, Smålands Kulturfestival, Drottningholms Barockensemble among several other groups and stages in Scandinavia. He is as well as a singer, a choral and orchestral conductor, graduated in 2013 in Graz, Austria, under the tutelage of Johannes Prinz among others. As a singer, he combines the alto/mezzo repertoire together with the haute-contre repertoire, focusing in French baroque music, a rather rare combination for which he has Peter Harvey as a coach. His first solo album "Pure Haute-contre" with sacred and profane music for Haute-contre written by André Campra and L-N Clérambault shall be released in February 2017.
