Rainer Mesecke was born in 1984 in Prenzlau. He studied singing at the Hochschule f&uumlr Musik und Theater in Hamburg. During his training, he attended several master classes with Robert Holl, David Roblou, Marc Tucker, Margreet Honig and Reri Grist. This young Bass has worked with a wide variety of ensembles, each orientated towards a different genre of music. These include the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra, the Barockwerk Hamburg, the Preußische Kammerorchester, Elbipolis Barockorchester and the Lübecker Philharmonic. He is also an active concert and oratorio performer throughout northern Germany. His concert repertoire includes J.S Bach's Christmas oratorio, St. John's Passion and St. Matthews Passion, as well as, J.Haydn's The seasons and G.F Handel's The Messiah. Even during his studies Rainer Mesecke was a guest at the Hamburg State Opera, as well as in the university's own productions in Hamburg and Saarbrüecken. Some of his performed roles include W.A Mozart's Figaro - Le Nozze di Figaro, Guglielmo – Cosi Fan Tutte,  Gobrias – G.F Handel's Belshazzar, Melchior – G.C Menotti's Amahl and the night visitors, amongst many others, including the world premier of M.Floros's Adriana in the role of Bruno. This young artist has recently won the main prize at the International festival of young opera singers, Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg(2015) and made his role debut as Eremit in Weber’s Freischütz at the Wernigeröder Schlossfestspiele in 2016. He has also been involved in several concert tours throughout Austria, Slovenia, Croatia and Russia.
