PAUL PHILLIPS, American composer, conductor, and author, is Director of Orchestras and Chamber Music at Brown University and Music Director of the Pioneer Valley Symphony Orchestra & Chorus. He has conducted over 60 orchestras, opera and ballet companies, and choirs worldwide, including the San Francisco Symphony, Dallas Symphony, and Netherlands Radio Chamber Orchestra. Past positions at Frankfurt Opera, Stadttheater Lüneburg, Greensboro Opera, Opera Providence. Recent engagements in Ireland, France, Macau, and Argentina. Recordings: RTÉ National Symphony of Ireland (Naxos), Brown University Orchestra (Naxos), Iceland Symphony Orchestra (ITM; Smekkleysa). Compositions can be heard on Soundcloud: His arrangement of the Stravinsky opera “Mavra” is published by Boosey & Hawkes. Author of “A Clockwork Counterpoint: The Music and Literature of Anthony Burgess” and contributor to five other books, including Norton Critical Edition of "A Clockwork Orange".
