Fulvio Oberto (tenor) Fulvio Oberto obtained his Diploma in singing at the &ldquoG.Verdi” Conservatory (Music School) in Turin, and went on in 1997 and 2001 to win the “Riccardo Zandonai” International Lyric Contest for young singers.  Further more the European Community Contest at the “A. Belli” Experimental Lyric Theatre in Spoleto, and the “Rocca delle Macie” (Siena) International Contest and the Marie Kraja Contest in Tirana (Albania). His repertoire includes characters such as Don José (Carmen), Maurizio (Adriana Lecouvreur), and Puccini’s Cavaradossi (Tosca), Pinkerton (Madame Butterfly), Des Grieux (Manon Lescaut), Rodolfo (La Bohème), and Calaf (Turandot). On stage he has sung Verdi’s Riccardo (Oberto, conte di San Bonifacio), Alfredo (La traviata), and Gabriele Adorno (Simon Boccanegra). Alongside Plácido Domingo he was part of the cast of the Luisa Fernanda zarzuela (operetta), by Federico Moreno Torroba. Since his debuts in Spoleto he has sung Cavaradossi and Don José several times; he sang Cavaradossi in Ascoli Piceno, Lucca, Mantua (Social Theatre), and at the Opernfestspiele in Heidenheim, Karlsruhe. His recent performances have included Pisa, Rovigo, Łódź, Amsterdam, Savona, Gelsenkirchen, Fano, Tallin, the Massa Marittima Festival and, in July 2012, back at the Opernfestspiele in Heidenheim. Fulvio Oberto has performed at the Scala Theatre in Milan (Moïse et Pharaon; Beatrice di Tenda) and at the Regio Theatre in Turin (Ernani; Anna Bolena ). He has also sung in Montecarlo (Lucrezia Borgia; Othello), Ōsaka (Adriana Lecouvreur), Nuremberg (Madama Butterfly and, in the 2011-2012 season, La traviata), Kassel (Simon Boccanegra), at the Rendano Theatre in Cosenza (Turandot), Politeama in Lecce (La traviata; Cavalleria rusticana), Coccia in Novara (Cavalleria rusticana), Ventidio Basso in Ascoli Piceno (Turandot); at theatres in Linz (La traviata) and Innsbruck (Manon Lescaut) in Austria; and in Budapest, Hungary (Simon Boccanegra, autumn 2011). Oberto sang in Madame Butterfly and Manon Lescaut during the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago. At the Arena in Verona he sang in the productions of Ernani and La traviata and has travelled with the Arena organization on many concert tours. He has given recitals at the Regio Theatre in Turin, the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Goldoni Theatre in Livorno, the Parthenon in Athens, and the Beethoven Festival in Teplice e Olomouc (Czech Republic). He has sung with many distinguished orchestra conductors, including Riccardo Muti, Massimo De Bernart, Miguel Roa, Bruno Dal Bon, Renato Palumbo, Bruno Nicoli, Marco Armiliato, Giorgio Carella, Bruno Campanella, Roberto Paternostro, Fabrizio Carminati, and Marcus Bosch. Amongst the directors are Denis Krief, Henning Brockhaus, Emilio Sagi, Luca Ronconi, Pier’Alli, Pier Luigi Pizzi, Massimo Pezzutti, Beppe De Tomasi, Beppe Menegatti, Ivan Stefanutti, and Peter Konwitschny.
