Review: A Night in Vienna: ****

"Two men vie for the love of one woman and use all the tricks in the book
to win her. Aidan Coburn, Nick Dwyer and Nina Kopparhed are all
wonderful and the English libretto by Pamela Schermann is at times
hilarious... Brilliantly acted by all three performers"
Sally Knipe, Londontheatre1.com

Feedback from Nina's recital "Simply Schubert" with Afton Strings:"There was a magical clarity of interwoven lines, supporting and commenting upon your beautifully nuanced and well-characterized singing.  ...I have had exceptional feedback from members of last night’s audience, all of them overwhelmed by the friendly and informative atmosphere created, and the wonderful music they heard."Alan Lovell, Promoter, Moffat Music Society, about Nina's  Schubert recital with Afton Strings on October 4th, 2013.

Musical background:Nina was a choral scholar at Nacka Musikklasser until her teens but then concentrated on her viola playing, gaining a BMus(Hons) and PGDip from the Birmingham Conservatoire  studying with Rivka Golani, and then working as a professional viola player, freelancing as an orchestral player and chamber musician. Nina's next singing appearance was in 2006, when working as principal viola with an orchestra in Brazil. During a tour of Bolivia the soprano soloist was taken ill on the day of a concert and Nina was asked to step in at the last minute. Her performance was well received and she was asked back to perform several more times as a soprano soloist with the orchestra. When Nina returned to the UK in 2008 she started having singing lessons with the soprano Judith Howarth, and later with Dr Nell Drew, whilst continuing her work as a viola player, until making her debut as a singer in November 2011. Nina still enjoys working as a violinist and viola player but singing is now her top priority and all-consuming passion.
