Bio

Nickie Johansson has been working as an opera singer since she graduated in 2008 from the Carl Nielsen Academy of Music. Earlier roles include for example Belinda (Dido and Aeneas), Serpetta (La Finta Giardiniera), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Drusilla (L'incoronazione di Poppea), Annina (La Traviata), Tatjana (Eugen Onegin). She has been a soloist with several chamber orchestras and Odense Symphony Orchestra, Århus Sinfonietta, Ensemble Zimmermann, Oslo Chamber Orchestra among others. In 2014 she has recorded Axel Borup Jørgensen’s Winterelegie on Dacapo Records with Århus Sinfonietta and Søren K. Hansen. Recently she has started a collaboration with the artist manager Kalle Kanttila at International Opera Artists in Germany -In March she will appear at Aalborg Operafestival, both in a liedconcert and in several operaperformances. -In April she is soloist in Carmina Burana and Springtime on Funen with Michael Bojesen and Copenhagen Phil. -In the summer 2015 she is singing Pamina in Die Zauberflöte by Mozart at Summeropera Valdemars Castle. -In september 2015 she is performing Émilie by Kaija Saariaho, who received the Léonie Sonning Music Prize in 2011.
