Nadège Meden is a young French soprano known for “seducing the public with her dazzling high notes.” She possesses a rich timbre and an ease for coloratura. Shining in the roles of the Verdi heroines she feels equally at home in 19th century French repertoire, Mozart, Gluck, Wagner and Puccini. In the upcoming season you can hear Nadège in the roles of Tosca in Milano and Carmen in Amsterdam.
In the 2016/17 Season, under the musical direction of Alexandre Myrat and Amaury Closel she sang both Freia and Woglinde (Rheingold) alternatively. Pierre Thirion-Vallet staged the production at the Vendome Academy. Nadège also sang the roles of Dido (Dido and Aeneas), and Mercedes (Carmen). She has participated in galas at Salon de Provence and in Luxembourg in collaboration with Nei Stemmen.
A recent recipient of the FOCUNA grant (Fonds du Ministère de la Culture Luxembourgeois) she was selected to participate in a week long master class series with Jennifer Larmore. She has taken part in several master classes with internationally renowned artists such as Michel Plasson, Françoise Pollet, Carlo Gaïfa, Cheryl Studer, Karine Deshayes, and Maestro Carlo Guidarini among many. In 2014, she obtained a scholarship for a master class with Grace Bumbry.
Passionate about classical music, Nadège began to study the piano at the age of 5. She received her bachelors in Musicology at La Sorbonne but on the advice of Maestro Carlo Gaifa (Academy of La Scala) she devoted herself entirely to singing. She holds a Diploma of Musical Studies with accolades from the president of the jury and international mezzo-soprano Viorica Cortez. She also holds a Diploma of Concert from the Schola Cantorum in Paris. Nadège has studied and performed internationally (France, Germany, Italy, and England) and is fluent in the subsequent languages. Currently, she works under the patronage of Nadine Denize.
