Myrto Bocolini, Greek mezzo-soprano of Italian origin, graduate from the drama school Athens Contemporary Theatre. She starts her professional career as an actress for the Greek television and theatre, but decides to follow her dream to study opera singing. Still in her second year of studies, she starts collaborating with the children opera and operetta of the National Greek Opera. She graduated in opera singing with top grades from the Nikos Skalkotas Conservatory of Athens. Her debut as a protagonist comes in 2011 in the J.P. Rameau opera "Dardanus", produced by the European Opera Centre in Liverpool and directed by Laurent Pillot. In 2012 she travels and studies in Italy (opera studio at the Carlo Felice Theatre in Genoa) and she wins the second prize at the "Arte in Canto" competition in Basciano. In 2013 she makes her debut in Modena, singing the part of Donna Elvira in the Opera Don Giovanni, conducted by G. Paganelli and directed by P.V.Montanari. Following that, she sings Nedda in the Opera Pagliacci in the Brancaccio Theatre of Rome and the F. Vespasiano in Rieti,(Associazione musicale Titto Gobbi) In 2014, she wins the second prize in the O.M.E.G.A. Association competition in Florence. She completes the Accademia del 60o Festival Pucciniano and she sings the part of Tosca in the Festival Illica di Castel Arquato, conducted by Maestro Marco Balderi and directed by Vivien Hewitt. She concludes the Festival season of Torre del Lago Puccini with the part of Suor Angelica in the Trittico of G. Puccini, conducted by Bruno Nicoli and directed by Vittoria Lai. In the same period she wins the "Gsdaad's Festival"special prize on the "Bellini International" Competition in Paris and for the "prize for the best belcanto interpratation" in the competition "Filippo II"  in Andria. She also does supplementary performances of "Tosca" in Tuscany and "Suor Angelica" in Padova.  The summer of 2015 she performs with great success the role of Giorgetta in Puccini's Tabarro, in the Puccini Festival of Torre del Lago. After the birth of her child her voice became darker and she is actualy persuing the mezzo-soprano repertoire.
