Bio

CRISTIAN MOGOSAN was born in 1983 in Cluj-Napoca and attended the &ldquoSigismund Toduta” Music Highschool. After graduating he continued his musical studies at the “Gheorghe Dima” Music Academy, majoring in singing with his father, Ph.D. Gheorghe Mogosan. He also took his Master in Arts degree in singing with Ph.D. Ionel Pantea. He attended masterclasses with renowned artists such as: Laurent Pillo, Margaret Hoing, John Norris, Mariana Nicolesco, Ion Buzea, Viorica Cortez, Rockwell Blake...    Cristian Mogosan is currently employed at the National Opera of Cluj. He is a regular guest at the National Opera of Bucharest, The National Opera of Timisoara, The National Radio Orchestra and others. He has performed on stages in Switzerland, France, Finland, Russia...  His repertoaire include: Don Jose – Carmen by G. Bizet;  Canio – Pagliacci by R. Leoncavallo; Riccardo – Un ballo in maschera by G. Verdi; B.F. Pinkerton – Madame Butterfly by G. Puccini; Rodolfo - La Boheme by G. Puccini; Erik - Der fliegende Holländer by Richard Wagner; Alfredo – La traviata by G. Verdi; Luigi – Il tabarro by G. Puccini; Lensky – Eugene Onegin by P. I. Tchaikovsky; Macduff –Macbeth by G. Verdi; Ismaele – Nabucco by G. Verdi; Orpheus – Orphee aux enfers by J. Offenbach; Cassio – Otello by G. Verdi; Pang – Turandot by G.Puccini. He performed in the first time national auditions of: Candide – Candide by Leonard Bernstein at the Cluj National Opera in 2007, and Tom Rakewell – The Rake’s Progress by Igor Stravinsky at the same opera in 2009. The choral works he has performed as a soloist include: Messa Di Requiem and Kroenungsmesse by W.A.Mozart; Die Schöpfung by J.Haydn; The 9th Symphony by L.v.Beethoven; Messa di Gloria by G. Puccini; Petite Messe Solennelle by G. Rossini; Theresienmesseby J. Haydn; Die erste Valpurgisnacht by F.Mendelssohn-Bartoldi;  Le Deluge – C.Saint Saens. His achievements include First Prize at the Performance of Romanian Lied Contest – Brasov (2004), First Prize at the Hariclea DarcléeInternational Voice Competition – Braila (2010) and the First Prize at Sabin Dragoi International  Voice Competition (2011).
