The Spanish tenor Miguel Borrallo was born in Madrid and earned his law degree at the  Universidad Complutense at Madrid. He speaks fluent English and Italian. He has a  proficient level of French, additionally phonetic knowledge of German and Russian.  He began his musical studies at Guadalajara’s Conservatory in theory, voice and piano  under the soprano Ángeles Chamorro as his main teacher. In addition, he took private  lessons in vocal technique and interpretation with Suso Mariátegui and works today with  Enzo Spatola and Celsa Tamayo at Madrid and with David Aronson at Vienna.  Miguel Borrallo participated among others in master classes of Paul Nelson of Cincinatti  Opera (U.S.A.), Jaume Aragall, Verónica Villarroel, Inva Mula, Josep Bros, Dolora Zajick,  Joyce di Donato as well as on a regular base of Suso Mariátegui and Edelmiro Arnaltes.      PROFESSIONAL CAREER    ORATORIO & CONCERT    Miguel Borrallo has a wide experience on the concert stage in singing oratorios, masses and  concerts. In 2000 he sang the solo tenor part in Haendel’s The Messiah and in Mozart’s  Requiem with the Orchestra and the Choir of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and the  Los Jerónimos Orchestra and Choir. In the same year he sang the solo tenor part in  Mozart’s Missa Brevis D-Dur K. 194 with the Choir and Orchestra of Los Jerónimos  (Madrid). In addition, he performed the solo tenor parts in Mozart’s Coronation Mass,  Mozart’s Missa Brevis C-Dur K. 258 and Vivaldi’s Magnificat in the cathedrals of Toledo,  Salamanca and Madrid. In 2006 he sang the solo tenor parts in Schubert’s Mass No. 2 in G  major, D. 16 and in several oratorio concerts at Paris. In 2007 and 2008 he performed  Mozart’s Coronation Mass K. 317 and Haydn’s Die Schöpfung at Madrid and Rome. In 2012  and 2013 he did perform Verdi’s Requiem in Madrid, Toledo and Ávila, with great success.  Miguel Borrallo has performed in opera concerts throughout Europe including performances  at Venice, Palermo, Dubrovnik, on Capri, Malta (La Valetta), Creta and the Greek mainland  as well as in Tunisia. In 2004 the lyric tenor sang once again Mozart’s Coronation Mass K. 2317 and Mozart’s Missa Brevis C-Dur K. 258 in a personal performance for the King of Spain. Since then, he has regularly participated in private concerts and events of the Royal Family. In 2012 and 2013 Miguel Borrallo was guest soloist in the Spain Tour of the National Radio Orchestra of Ukraine singing 6 concerts all around the country and did perform recitals in Madrid (Young Opera Singers of the Madrid Opera Friends), Navas del Marqués (Ávila), Zamora and Jaén (Spain). He did also perform in November 26th 2013 in Teatro de la Zarzuela (Madrid) a gala concert for the 50th anniversary of the AAOM (Madrid Opera Friends) with some of the most famous singers of Spain.    OPERA    In 1998 and 1999 Miguel Borrallo sang the role of the ‘Lieutenant’ in two productions of  Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas at Madrid. In 2003 he sang the role of ‘Wagner’ in Boito’s  Mefistofele at the Teatro Romea of Murcia, in the Teatro Principal of Alicante and in the  inauguration of Madrid’s Teatro del Bosque. He has also sung the solo tenor part in Mozart’s  Requiem at Madrid, Valencia, Seville and Barcelona.    In 2004 he participated as a member of the choir of the Opera National de Paris in operas  like Manon, La Traviata, Die Zauberflöte, Saint François d’Asise (Messiaen), Il Trovatore  and Beethoven’s 9th Symphony. These performances gave him the opportunity to be on  stage together with some of today’s most famous singers.    In the 2004/05 season of the Teatro Real at Madrid, Miguel Borrallo sang the role of ‘Erster  Edler’ in Wagner’s Lohengrin and the ‘Count of Lerma’ in Verdi’s Don Carlo both conducted  by Jesús López Cobos. During the 2005/06 season he sang solo roles in Janaceck’s From  the house of Death, Luisa Fernanda (Moreno-Torroba), in which he also appeared in the  Festival of Perelada, and in Strauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos. In the same season he gave a solo  concert at Milan.    During the 2007/08 season of the Teatro Real Miguel Borrallo has been appearing in the  role of ‘Tzernikovsky’ in Boris Godunov (Mussorgsky). In 2008 Miguel Borrallo performed  with great acclaim the role of ‘Ferrando’ in Mozart’s Cosí fan tutte at Madrid’s Teatro  Moncloa. In May 2010 Miguel Borrallo was awarded with a 2nd prize in the 1st International  Singing Contest of Torrelavega (Cantabria –Spain–).    In 2011 he did perform the rol of ‘Maese Pedro’ from El Retablo de Maese Pedro (Falla) in  Lecce (Italia), three concerts in South Italy with the Orchestra della Magna Grecia. In the  ancient Greek Theater of Taormina he sung the Soloist Tenor from the 8th Sinphony (G.  Mahler) conducting Veronesi. In Teatro Nacional de Honduras he sung the role of ‘Paolino’  from Il Matrimonio Secreto (Cimarosa), an in Milano he did perform ‘Camille de Rosillon’ of  The Merry Widow (Lehar). In 2012 he did sing the Soloist tenor of the Requiem (G.Verdi),  ‘Edgardo’ from Lucia de Lammermoor (Donizetti) in Albacete, Manzanares, Alcobendas,  Toledo and Guadalajara (Spain) and Rigoletto (Duca) in Vigo (Spain) with the Odessa  Opera House, and in Madrid, Toledo and Cuenca. In 2013 after a tournée of 6 concerts in  Spain with a Symphonic Orchestra (Barcelona, Alicante, etc…) he did sing 2 performances  of Verdi’s Rigoletto (Duca) and 5 performances of La Traviata (Alfredo) in Madrid (Spain), El  Ferrol and León (Spain). In February 2013 he did also perform the role of ‘Edgardo’ of Lucia  di Lammermoor in Málaga (Teatro Cervantes) and did perform the role of ‘Rodolfo’ of La  Bohème in Marbella and Córdoba (Spain).  He will perform in 2014 the role of ‘Beppe’ (Arlequino) of Pagliacci in Teatro de La Zarzuela  (Madrid) and again the role of Rodolfo from La Bohème in Sabadell Opera House
