Bio


American soprano Michelle DeCoste has distinguished herself in lyric and verismo roles
of Italian and French repertoire. In recent seasons, Michelle portrayed
Desdemona in Verdi’s Otello and Mimí in Puccini’s La Bohème with One World
Symphony and Southern Vermont Lyric Theatre. Michelle has also performed leading roles with Ravello Concert Society (Italy), Amalfi Coast Music Festival (Italy) and the
Martina Arroyo Foundation. She has performed in concert with the Albany
Symphony Orchestra and was a guest artist at Merkin Concert Hall performing
original works by composer Jed Feuer for the première of his Orchestral Suite
and Two Songs for Soprano. Signature operatic roles
include the title in Puccini’s Suor Angelica, Marguerite in Gounod’s Faust and
Nedda in Leoncavallo’s I Pagliacci. This fall Michelle looks forward to
performing as a featured artist in an all-Verdi gala (Verdi in Vermont) at Vermont Lyric Theatre.
