Micaela Oeste

Lyric Coloratura Soprano

Hire Micaela Oeste ›
Onetz (2017)
«However, the most arresting singing of the opera came from Micaela Oeste. Oeste showed not only flawless technique, but was able to portray the confusion and vulnerability of this unhinged spirit. After the curtain fell the audience was unanimous in a sustained ovation that lasted several minutes. However, to the delight of the audience not fully familiar with the opera, this was not the end of Ophelie’s or Oeste’s singing.»

Praised for her “crystalline voice…with the chic and class of Grace Kelly”, soprano, Micaëla Oeste, regularly appears at many of the world’s largest venues in both concert and opera. Micaëla’s 2016-17 season includes concerts with the Hungarian State Opera Orchestra in Budapest and with the Aalborg Symphony Orchestra in Denmark alongside Placido Domingo.  She will return to the concert stage with Hungarian violinist Zoltan Maga for performances in the United States. She also joins the Strauss Symphony of Canada for New Year's concerts in Montreal and Quebec City.  In her 2015-16 season, Micaela made her debut at the Wiener Konzerthaus with Mr. Zoltan Maga and returned to the Savannah Music Festival for a series of concerts.  She also joined Placido Domingo for concerts in Tokyo with the Tokyo Philharmonic, in China with the Macau Orchestra, Russia and Ireland.  In her 2014-15 season, she made her debut with the Savannah Music Festival as Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi and Opera Santa Barbara as Stella in Previn’s Streetcar named Desire.  She also appeared on the concert stage with Placido Domingo in Belgrade at the Kombank Arena and in Istanbul's Ülker Arena. In the 2013-14 season, Micaela debuted with Opéra de Monte-Carlo as Lucy in Menotti’s The Telephone and Amelia in Amelia al ballo, San Diego Opera as Pedro in Don Quichotte, and the American Symphony Orchestra as Margret in Strauss' Feuersnot at Carnegie Hall. She also was asked to sing for the celebration of the canonization of Pope John Paul II in Poznan, Poland. Past seasons include Zerlina in Don Giovanni with Los Angeles Opera, Flavia Gemmira in Cavalli’s Eliogabalo with Gotham Chamber Opera, and Croyble in Thais at the Teatro de la Maestranza de Sevilla.

Micaëla has circled the globe in concert including performances with the Stockholm Sinfonietta, Orkest der Lage Landen at the Ziggodome in Amsterdam, the Baden-Baden Symphony in both Lorelei, Germany and Bahrain, and at the opening of the Royal Opera House of Muscat, Oman. As a young artist at Washington National Opera she sang Nannetta in Falstaff, the Woodbird in Siegfried, and First Niece in Peter Grimes. She also triumphed as Ophélie in Hamlet, stepping in mid-performance for Elizabeth Futral for Acts III and IV, including Ophélie's famously difficult and ethereal mad scene. She then returned to sing Oscar in Verdi's Un Ballo in Maschera. Other performances include Zerlina in Don Giovanni with Polish National Opera, her return to Chicago Opera Theater as Créuse in Charpentier’s Médée, Gilda in Rigoletto at Beijing’s Reignwood Theater and Croyble in Thais, L’Infante in Le Cid at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía.

Micaëla can be heard in Yanni's album “Inspirato” alongside some of the greatest voices of opera such as Renee Fleming and Rolando Villazon.
