Melissa Briozzo is a young Soprano from Liguria, Italy.
She first began to study voice with Italian Soprano Linda Campanella with whom she still periodically studies. She also studied the piano for many years with the well-known Italian pianist Maestro Franco Giacosa. She received her Music Degree from the Liceo Musicale "F. Cilea" in Savona, and attended the Academy’s Summer Music School "M.M. Ollandini" and the Association "Francesco Geminiani". She continued her studies at the Conservatory “N. Paganini” in Genoa where she studied with soprano Norma Palacios.
She graduates with honors in France at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Règional de Nice, and she collaborates with her teacher, the famous Coloratura Soprano Elizabeth Vidal.
For many years she has coached and worked with Tenor Andrea Elena, with whom she now performs regularly. She partecipated in Masterclasses at the Music Academy International "E.W. Elgar" directed by Maestro Andrea Elena and Maestro Luis Alva (La Scala), and she participates in Concerts with Maestro Alva and with the Tenor Nicola Martinucci.
She’s performed like soloist at the Vatican for a special Mass with Pope Benedict XVI and Pope Francis Bergoglio with the St. Timothy Church Choir di Orlando - Florida directed by Maestro Bill Doherty.
She open with a personal Recital the prestigious season of “I Concerti delle Logge” in Imperia, with special honor Prize for famous Soprano Mariella Devia.
In August 2013 she was presented in a series of Concerts in Verona in the pretigious concert series “San Fermo in Music”.
In February 2014 she perform in Concerts in New York on the famous Christ & St. Stephen Church - NYC.
She has since performed in numerous concerts of note, most recently with the Ensemble di Archi of the Berlin Philarmonic.
She sang in many Opera’s production like “Rigoletto” by G. Verdi (Gilda), “Die Zauberflöte” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (Die Königin der Nacht), “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” by G. Rossini (Rosina), “L’ Elisir d’Amore” by G.Donizetti (Adina, Giannetta), “La Traviata” by G.Verdi (Annina), “Il Trovatore” by G.Verdi (Ines), “Tosca” by G.Puccini (Pastorello), “Le Nozze di Figaro” by W.A. Mozart (Cherubino) and she has sung in a special presentation of the opera Tosca, in Switzerland, with the famous Tenor Nicola Martinucci.
Melissa has received critical acclaim for her performances of the works of modern authors such as Aaron Coplan and others with the Ensemble New Music.
In 2012 togheter with the Soprano Simona Briozzo, she founded the “Briozzo Duet”, a group specializing in concerts of Jazz, contemporary Music, Opera and Operetta in concerts throughout Italy.
Recently she debuted the role of Rosina in the Opera “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” and Gilda in the Opera "Rigoletto" in the United States of America, with the I.O.C.A. - The International Opera Center of America, at the Theatre of Orlando – Florida.
Her vocal versatility allowed her to study and deepen the Opera Lirica, Chamber Music, Sacred Music, Operetta and Musical.
