In 2014 he has been awarded with XVI Prize Young Emerging Artist &ldquoLuciana Pardini’ by the Alfredo Catalani Association and recognized by the Opera Britannia magazine among the best 2014 worldwide male performers for his debut in the title role of Les Contes d' Hoffmann.Brazilian tenor Max Jota began his musical studies in 2005 at the Anthenor Navarro School and since 2007 at the Federal University of Paraiba - UFPB, João Pessoa, Brazil. In 2009 he moved to Italy, where he graduated at the School of Italian Opera (Scuola dell’Opera Italiana) of Teatro Comunale in Bologna. Afterwards he graduated at the High Level Interpretation Course for Opera Singers of the International Academy of Lyric Art (Accademia Lirica Internazionale di Arte Lirica) in Osimo as well as at Studio Opera Toscano of Teatro Comunale “Giuseppe Verdi” in Pisa, Teatro Comunale Carlo Goldoni in Livorno and Teatro Comunale del Giglio in Lucca.Among his teachers are to be mentioned Chris Merritt, Mirella Freni, Jaime Aragall, Francisco Araiza, Raul Gimemez, Luis Alva, Giuseppe Sabbatini, William Matteuzzi, Vittorio Terranova, Dolora Zajick, Lella Cuberlii. He has been a pupil of soprano Sabrina Modena and of Maestro Anna Vandi in the Preparatory Course of the Accademia Nazionale of Santa Cecilia in Rome.Currently his roles include: Count Danilo and Count Camille de Rosillon in Die Lustige Witwe; Don José in Carmen; Mario Cavaradossi in Tosca and Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly; Duca di Mantova in Rigoletto, Alfredo in La Traviata, Ismaele in Nabucco and Riccardo in Un Ballo in maschera; Hoffmann in Les Contes d’Hoffmann (4 and 5 acts versions), Turiddu in Cavalleria Rusticana, Enzo Grimaldo in La Gioconda and Edgardo di Ravenswood in Lucia di Lammermoor; Don Giovanni in Don Giovanni of G. Gazzaniga. He was First Prize Winner of the International Operatic Voice Competition (Concorso Internazionale Voce Lirica) of the Castrocaro International Festival; winner of the Best Interpreter Prize at the Riccardo Zandonai International Competition in Riva del Garda; winner of the Best Interpreter Prize of Antonio Carlos Gomes at the Maria Callas International Competition in São Paulo, Brazil; winner of the Audience Prize at the International Competition of Salice d’Oro (Italy); First Prize winner at the Young Soloists Competition Eleazar de Carvalho in Fortaleza, Brazil.
