Bio


Matteo Loi was born in Cagliari in 1987 and has completed his musical studies in his city graduating in cello. Later he studied singing at the Conservatory of Music in Florence. He attended the Accademia Rossiniana 2013 conducted by maestro Alberto Zedda making his debut in Pesaro as Don Alvaro in Il viaggio a Reims. Later he attended the Opera Studio of Tenerife debuting the role of Dandini in La Cenerentola. He also attended the Academy of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino singing in different roles at the Opera di Firenze, including Taddeo in L'italiana in Algeri, Marchese d’Obigny in La Traviata by Verdi and the solo part of Mozart’s Requiem. He currently works in the Junges Ensemble of the Theater an der Wien where he debuted several roles, including Overall in Der Kaiser von Atlantis by Ullmann, Malatesta in Don Pasquale by Donizetti, Toante in the Oreste by Haendel, Blasio in La scuola de 'Gelosi by Salieri, Piritoò in Arianna in Nasso by Porpora, Golaud in Pelléas et Mélisande by Debussy, Helmesberger in Der Besuch der alten Dame by Von Einem, Gugliemo in Mozart's Così fan tutte.
