Petteri Loukio is a young and promising tenor. He graduated from the music department of the Tampere University of Applied Sciences  in may of 2018. An is now continuing his studies with music pedagogy  and will graduate in 2020. His abilities in the upper register are remarkable, because of lightness of the voice, accompanied with firm power.
His presence on stage, be it lied or opera is one of a kind. He is a believable performer and a very versatile one. His voice is suitable for many pieces of both operatic and musical literature.
Loukio’s repertoire includes basic operatic literature as well as many pieces of traditional lied and classical folk songs. In his freshman year (2013) he performed the role of Sellem the auctioneer in Stravinsky's The Rake's Progress. Since then he has portrayed Cecco in Haydn's Il Mondo Della Luna, been the understudy for Mastro Trabuco in Verdi's La Forza Del Destino at the Tampere Opera. He has also played the youngest brother in the treasured Finnish play adapted from the classic book, Aleksis Kivi's The Seven Brothers. 2017 begins with him understudying the role of Kaappo in Leevi Madetoja's Pohjalaisia. He commissioned a chamber music monologue opera, Dante’s Punchlines (Ultime righe di Dante), which he then performed in his Bachelor’s Thesis in december 2017. In october 2017 he also covered and vocally performed the role of Niccolo Paganini in Franz Lehár’s operetta Paganini, due to the soloist losing his voice.In january 2018 he covered the role of Iisakki in Olli Kortekangas’ civil war oper Veljeni Vartija (My Brothers Keeper). In may 2018 he covered the role of Il Duca di Mantoa in Verdi’s Rigoletto which was produced by OperaBox in Helsinki. Autumn of 2018 passed practicing upcoming roles. In January of 2019 Loukio has had three premiers on three consecutive weekends. First a double-feature of two chamber/mini-operas: The Psychiatrist by Tauno Marttinen and Solange. Solange! by Jens Lindqvist. Then Die Loreley by Fredrik Pacius, in which he covered both tenor roles - Otto and Reinold. After this he performed the role of Le Remendado in Georges Bizet's Carmen. February 2019 holds the premier and performances of Puccini's La Bohème in Tampere. In this production he will be playing the role of Parpignol. In June he will be once again part of a great team at the Music Festival of Ilmajoki, in Ostrobothnia, performing Mannerheim by Tuomas Kantelinen for the third consecutive summer. There he will be part of the opera chorus as well as the cover for two tenor roles and even a high baritone role. 

Season 19/20 brings a more musical approach into the life of the young tenor. He will be performing the role of St. Aphrodisius, be part of the stage ensemble and cover for the role of Jehan in Alan Menken's The Hunchback of Notre Dame at the Tampere Theatre. Premiering in September 2019. 

In spring of 2020 he will be singing the role of Pong in the OperaBox production of Puccini's Turandot at the Alexander's Theatre in Helsinki.
