Born in Buenos Aires, Martin began his formal music education in the National Conservatory of Music and his orchestra training in the youth orchestra of the Teatro Colon. Awarded with many scholarships and prizes, he obtained a Master of Music degree at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, and later he followed postgraduate studies in Italy and Belgium.
He started his orchestral career in the National Symphony Orchestra of Argentina. In 2009 he entered the Brussels Philharmonic and since 2014, he is a member of the orchestra of the Théâtre Royal de La Monnaie in Brussels.
Impassioned by Argentine classical music, Martin has written many transcriptions of the most celebrated Argentine composers and has created an extensive repertoire for solo double bass. He performs those works internationally in solo recitals and chamber music concerts, promoting Argentine classical music and composers.
