Bio


Marie-Sande Papenmeyer was born in Oldenburg, Germany. She studied at the Academy of Music and Theatre Hanover with Prof. Dr. Peter Anton Ling and also attended the lied interpretation class of Prof. Jan Philip Schulze.

In 2016 she made her debut as Ulrica in Un ballo in maschera at the Ernst Deutsch Theater, Hamburg and as Jezibaba in Rusalka.

In 2014 she sang Amfizione for the premiere recording of J. S. Mayr’s opera, Saffo and the Alto part in G. Donizetti’s Messa di Gloria and Credo in D-Major under Franz Hauk, both issued by Naxos Label. In 2013 she sang the alto part in a NDR’s broadcast of Bach’s Mass in G-minor.

From 2014-2016 she was member of the Junge Oper of the Staatsoper Hannover. There she had the opportunity to perform a wide range of roles such as Pastorkyna in L. Janáček’s opera Jenufa, the third woodsprite in A. Dvořák’s opera Rusalka, the Curra in G. Verdi’s La forza del destino, the Sandman in Hänsel und Gretel, the C. Cui’s opera Puss in Boots and several premieres of pieces for young audiences including Mouse 2/Cow/Hedgehog in S. J. Hanke’s Oh wie schön ist Panama.

She sang Ruggiero in Alcina at the Theater Osnabrück and Hatà in Smetana’s The Bartered Bride at the Wernigeröder Schlossfestspiele and Burg Warberg. She has also appeared as Nutrice in Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea and the Sorceress in H. Purcel’s Dido and Aeneas.

In the current season she appears as Peter, in W. Hiller’s Peter Pan, at the Theater für Niedersachsen in Niedelsheim.

Apart from opera she has a wide ranging concert repertory which includes works of J. S. Bach to W. A. Mozart, from Beethoven to Schumann to Duruflé’s up to contemporary composers.

Her concert appearances until now, have led her to Austria, Germany and Poland.

In 2009 she received the the Advancement Award by the city Perleberg.

Currently she is under the vocal guidance of Yamina Maamar.
