The Norwegian soprano Margrethe Fredheim debuted in Carnegie Hall in 2016. She currently resides inGermany where she is a permanent member of the ensemble at Theater Erfurt. Her roles here include Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Euridice (Orfeo ed Euridice), Fiordiligi (Cosi fan Tutte), Marenka (Die Verkaufte Braut) and Miss Jessel (The Turn ofthe Screw).Margrethe made her solo debut in Universitetets Aula, Oslo in May 2014. Following her debut she has appeared as a soloist with The Cairo Symphony Orchestra, Oslo University Orchestra, Oslofjord Kammerharmoni, Pärnu City Orchestra, Latvian National Opera Orchestra, Ningbo Radio Orchestra and Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen. She is a laureate of the Jazeps Vitols Compeition in Riga (2nd Prize 2015). The same year she was a finalist in the Klaudia Taev Competition and a semi-finalist in the International Otto Edelmann Singing Competition in Vienna. In 2014 she won the Mozart Prize at the WilhelmStenhammar International Singing Competition and was a finalist at the DEBUT competition in Weikersheim and the 6th China International Voical Compeition (Ningbo). Concert work brought her to the Cairo Opera House and the Kirsten Flagstad Festival in 2015.Opera credits include Frau Fluth in Die Lustigen Weiber von Windsor at Landestheater Coburg and Theater Rudolstadt, Erste Dame in Die Zauberflöte at Tuscia Operafestival, Woglinde in Das Rheingold at Den Norske Opera og Ballett (LidahlNorth), Contessa Ceprano in Rigoletto at Oscarsborgoperaen, Musetta in La Boheme at Oslo Operafestival and Marguerite in Faust with Manhattan School of Musics Opera Studio.Margrethe holds a performing masters degree from Manhattan School of Music and The Norwegian Academy of Music, and a bachelor of Opera from Oslo National Academy of Arts. Master Class includes work with Thomas Hampson, Benton Hess, Karan Armstrong, Catherine Foster, Robert DeSimone and Judith Haddon. She is a Fulbright Aumni and holds stipends from Sine Butenschøns Fond and Tom Wilhelmsens stiftelse.
