Margareta Matišić  (mezzo-soprano)
was born in 1989. She sang the role of the Sorceress in “Dido and Aeneas” (2008), which she also performed in Pécs, Hungary, and Osijek, Croatia. In 2011 and 2012 she also sang in the musical “Trenk Cabare“ in the role of Maria Theresa, with which she toured the whole of Croatia.
In 2016 she was one of the finalists at the International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition in Cape Town, South Africa.
From 2015 to 2017 she continued her training under
renowned prima donna Vlatka Oršanić at the Academy of Music in Zagreb.
She performed with the renowned Belarusian National Chamber Orchestra at the 2008 Varaždin Baroque Evenings, at the Osijek Summer of Culture, Science Festival, Osijek Youth Summer, Vukovar Chamber Music Festival. In 2010 she was a member of the Osijek Chamber Music Ensemble. She
has performed as a soloist and with ensembles in Croatia, Austria, Hungary, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Italy, Spain, etc. In 2016 she performed a piece by Josip Štolcer Slavenski “Chaos and Religiophony” as a soloist with the Zagreb Music Academy Symphony Orchestra and the choir at Vatroslav Lisinski Music Hall in Zagreb, as well as at the Slovenian Philharmonics Hall in Ljubljana under the direction of conductor Mladen Tarbuk. She performed the same composition at the 43
May Music Memorial in Čakovec under the direction of conductor Matija Fortuna.  
In 2010 she received the Dean's award for her successful artistic work and academic achievement.
She graduated with honors in 2011 at the Academy of Arts in Osijek  in the class of  Professor Berislav Jerković. In June 2012 she also received her Master's degree from the same Academy thus gaining the academic tile of Master of Music.  
She attended summer seminars on lied interpretation run by Professor Annemarie Zeller and Professor Gerhard Zeller, as well as the “Aestas Musica” (London) summer seminars on baroque
music and dance organized in Varaždin. She took part in the international singing seminar on the application of science of voice and technology in voice teaching run by Scott McCoy. In 2016 she attended a seminar in Zagreb run by RenataPokupić.
She also works as an educator. She has been teaching opera singing, chamber music and scenic movement at Varaždin School of Music since 2012.
In the 2018 autumn season she will be performing the role of
Mistress Quickly in the opera Falstaff 
by Guiseppe Verdi at the Rijeka National Theater, Croatia.
