Italian-American tenor Marco Stefani was most recently heard in his successful debut as Lindoro L’Italiana in Algeri with Livermore Valley Opera.  Last summer, he was heard as Tideo in Mayr’s Medea in Corinto at the Festival della Valle d’Itria under the baton of Maestro Fabio Luisi, where he also covered for tenor Michael Spyres in the role of Giasone. Other notable appearances include the Salzburg Festival as a member of the Young Singers Project; the Rossini Opera Festival as Conte di Libenskof in Il viaggio a Reims and at San Francisco Opera in the world premiere of Mark Adamo’s The Gospel of Mary Magdalene opposite baritone Nathan Gunn.  The promising young tenor trained in Palm Beach Opera’s young artist program where he was heard as Don Ramiro in La Cenerentola, Third Jew in Salome, and covered Alfredo in La traviata. Previous operatic credits include: Five in Unsuk Chin’s Alice in Wonderland and the covers of Ferrando in Così fan tutte and Pirelli in Sweeney Todd with Opera Theater of Saint Louis, Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi with Stockton Opera, and Il conte d’Almaviva in Il barbiere di Siviglia with Music Academy of the West. Recital and concert work has included solo recitals in collaboration with the Carnegie Hall Neighborhood Concert Series and the Firehouse Arts Center; the Mozart Requiem and Janácek’s Otenáš with the Indiana University Symphony. Mr. Stefani is the recipient of the prestigious career grant from the Sullivan Foundation, a winner of the Marilyn Horne Song Competition, and the winner of the Palm Beach Opera Competition-Junior Division.  He is a graduate of University of the Pacific and Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.
