Bio


Marco Iacomelli graduated in Music and Communication Technology at the University of Milan, then obtained his Master’s Degree in Opera Directing at Accademia Nazionale d’Arte Drammatica Silvio D’Amico. He studied composition and singing at the Guido Cantelli Conservatory of Novara. He worked for EMI Music Italia, Universal Music Italia and was a consultant for BMG Ricordi in the Digitalization Project of their Historical Records Archive. He made his debut as a director in 2010 with “The Glass Menagerie” by Tennessee Williams at Scuola d’Arte Drammatica Paolo Grassi. The following year he directed a reduction of “Mr. Emmet takes a walk” by Peter Maxwell Davies and David Pountney (Teatr Wielki Opera Narodowa, Warsaw). Between 2012 and 2014 he co-directed, together with Saverio Marconi, several shows from the national and international musical theater repertoire. In 2015 he directed the Italian version of “Next to Normal”, by Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey, winner of the Pulitzer Prize and of three Tony Awards. In 2017 he directed the Italian version of “Green Day’s American Idiot” by Billie Joe Armstrong and Michael Mayer.
