Was born in Bizerta, Tunisia. Her first singing lessons she had with the Baritin Werner Schürmann.In 1997 she participated the masterclass held by KS W.Berry and she received a stipendium by the Richard-Wagner-Verband Bayreuth. Since 1999 she completed her vocal studies an interpretation with the soprano KS O. Miljakovic, Vienna. 2001-2003 she was soloist at the theater of Eisenach ( Agathe/ Freischütz,Marta/Tiefland,Elisabeth+Venus/ Tannhäuser). Since 2003 the german soprano works as a free- lance artist. From 2003 to 2008 she returned to Eisenach for the anual Festival performing Elisabeth (Elisabeth+Venus, 2008) in Tannhäuser as well on the theater stage, as at the Wartburg Castle,Eisenach the place of origin. She was hosting at the Prague State Opera and was seen there in roles like Marta ( Tiefland), Amelia (un ballo in maschera), and took over the title roles in Tosca, Aida and Turandot. In 2008 her presentation of Senta ( Der fliegende Holländer) at the Prague State Opera was international recognized and earned great acclaim; a part she performed again with great success at the Staatstheater Braunschweig in September 2008and at the theater in Dortmund ( December 2011).At the Nationaltheater Prague she was highly recognized as Adriana Lecouvreur and as Kateřina in the Greek Passion (B.Martinů), conducted by J.Belohlavek, and as Donna Anna ( Don Giovanni) and Giulietta (Tales of Hoffmann). In October/ November 2005 she had guest-apperiances n Japan, in the titel role of Aida ; a role that brought her under the stage direction of P.Konwitschny to Saarbrücken and in 2008 and 2010 to the Leipzig Operahouse. Maida Hundeling made her debut at the Slovakian National Theatre Bratislava in April 2007 as Ariadne in Ariadne of Naxos and returned to perform the title role of Turandot in March 2011. At the theater in Wuppertal she was seen as Lisa in Pique Dame and in spring 2008 in the part of Ellen Orford ( Peter Grimes). In December 2008 she made her debut as Wozzeck Marie at the Regensburg Theater and in May 2009 she performed the part of Chrysothemis (Elektra) at the Operahouse in Dessau. In May 2009 she also took over performances as Elisabeth (Tannhäuser) at the Staatstheater Oldenburg. In the guestperformance of Aida at the Grosses Festspielhaus Salzburg, in October 2009 she received great acclaim performing the titelrole. She also took over performances as Ellen Orford (Peter Grimes) at the Staatstheater Hannover. In January 2010 Maida Hundeling made her italian debut as Chrysothemis (Elektra) in a coproduction of the operahouses Bolzano,Modena,Ferrara and Piacenza. In February/ March 2010 she was in the rooster as Elisabeth ( Tannhäuser) at La Scala, Milano, conducted by Z. Mehta and under the stage direction of Carlus Padrissa/ La Fura dels Baus. In October 2010 she performed Ariadne ( Ariadne auf Naxos) at the Staatstheater Nürnberg and appeared as Giulietta ( Tales of Hoffmann) at the Nationaltheater Mannheim. Maida Hundeling made her debut at the Volksoper Vienna as Tosca in May 2010 and took over the part of Georgetta ( il tabarro) in a new production in spring 2011; a role that brought her back to the Volksoper stage in Februar / March 2012 and March/ April 2013. She performed her first Salome at the Volksoper Vienna, in October 2012. She sang her first Jenufa in January 2011 at the theater in Ostrava, a role that brought her in March 2012 to the Statni divadlo Košice. Maida Hundeling performed as Rezia (Oberon)at the Münster Theater in May/June 2012 and in November 2012 as Senta (Der fliegende Holländer) at the Operahouse of Montreal. She took over the title role of Fidelio in a new production at the Edmonton Opera in April 2012 and was called back to Edmonton Opera for performing Salome in October 2013. Further engagements brought her as Ariadne to Theater Freiburg(December 2012/March 2013),as Senta to Opera Ljubljana ( January 2013), as Elsa to Theater Ostrava,CZ (March/May/December 2013) and in the role of Senta( Der fliegende Holländer) to the Staatstheater Wiesbaden (Season 2013/2014). Also the role of Senta brought her to the concert stage in Spain (November 2013) and to the Smetana Festival Litomysl 2014 stage in Coproduction with the Nationaltheater Brünn. The concert stage was her platform to present a Wagnergala ( November 2013)with the Ostravian philharmonic orchestra and in the chambermusic program at Passau and Landshut she had the possibility to present the Wesendonk- Lieder ( November 2013) Beethoven's Sinfonie Nr 9 brought her to Milan to celebrate the New Years Eve 2013 and New Year 2014 with the Orchestra La Verdi. In January 2014 Maida performed Jenufa at the Nationaltheater Prague and returned also as Jenufa to the Theater in Ostrava ( May 2014). She dominated in the titelrole of the high acclaimed Turandot production at Utah Opera (March 2014) stage direction by Barbe/Doucet. The grandious debut at the Nationaltheater Brünn was when she performed the role of Tosca in the outstanding production by J.Heřman ( May/June/ October 2015/May/June/ November/December 2016). She also took over repertoir performances as Aida (May 2015) and a presentation of Turandot at the Miskolc Festival,HU (June 2015) with the Nationaltheater Brünn. The season 2015/16 was opened by a new production of Jenufa at ND Brünn and she was called for the first time to the MET Opera, NYC to be part of their rooster for performing Turandot. The role of Turandot called her also back to the SND Bratislava in the season 2015/16 and she made her incredible debut as Foreign Princess /Rusalka at Houston Grand Opera ( January /February 2016) in the breathtaking staging by Glyndebourne Festival/ Melly Still. The season 2015/2016 will be ' closed ' with a new staging of Fidelio at SND Bratislava (April/May/June/September/October/November 2016), performances as Elsa / Lohengrin at SND Bratislava (March/April 2016) as well as Magna Peccatrix/1.Soprano Solo in G.Mahler's 8. Sinfonie at the Smetana Festival Litomysl (June 2016) and the title role of Aida at the Schweriner Schlossfestspiele (July/August 2016). Besides her outstanding presentations as operasinger and performer,Maida Hundeling is as well know for presenting a wide range of her concert repertoir.
