Bio

From the secluded woods of Norway Magnus Dorholt Kjeldal is a young, up and coming Kavalierbaritone. He has a warm, but powerful voice with a timbre and intensity that goes directly to the heart and a stage presence that fills any stage. His repertoire varies from the classical baritone parts like his favourites Don Giovanni and the Barber to more modern showpieces and newly written contemporary work. He masterfully switches from roles of comic relief to serious deep character studies, all with natural timing and presence, and his versatile voice adapts to any challenge.

His debut at the Norwegian National Opera and Ballett was already in 2012 while he was still a student, and shortly after finishing his studies he debuted as the title role of Le Nozze de FIgaro. Since then he has sung concerts and operas all around Norway, Europe and Mexico where he also found the love of his life.

Magnus is multi-passionate and teaches meditation in his free time. A daily practice of meditation ensures focus, effectiveness and presence on stage, as well as a kind, easy-going and positive colleague off stage.
