BIOGRAPHY LUCAS SIMON &ndash DIRECTOR   Lucas Simon is a french director who lives in Italy. He study architecture in Marseille, where he started working in different theatres such as Toursky and La Criée.    In 2008 he joined Charles Rouband as Assistant Director, working on Aida and La Veuve Joyeuse at Opera de Marseille and I Puritani at Opera de Toulon. He was introduced to the art of the « operette » by the L’Huillier’s. He assisted other important directors such as: Fréderic Bélier-Garcia for La Traviata, and Jean-Claude Auvray for Cavalleria Rusticana/Pagliacci (both productions at Les Choregie d’Orange), and Nadine Duffaud for Les Pêcheurs de Perles at Opera de Toulon, Cinderella at Opera de Massy, Manon at Opera de Reims and at Opera d’Avignon and more recently for La Traviata.      In February 2013 he staged The Flying Dutchman by R. Wagner at Teatro Sociale di Como (IT): the production was then staged at Theater Magdeburg (D) in October 2013 and at Opera de Rouen (FR) in January 2014, within Wagner 200 project.       He has recently assisted Francesco Micheli for Adriana Lecouvreur at Opera de Nice. Next autumn, he will be the Assistant Director of Graham Vick for a new creation of Don Giovanni, staged in the Italian network of Circuito Lirico Lombardo, as well as in the theatres of Bolzano, Reggio Emilia and Jesi. Social theater of Como trusts him again,he will stage the elixir of love in January 2015.
