Letitia VitelaruLyric Sopran with agilityI was born in the year 1985 in Comănești, a little mountaintown in the North East of Romania. I attended the “Dinu Lipatti” Music Lyceumin Bucharest, studying classical canto and the violin. Following my lyceum education, I decided to study at the“Giuseppe Verdi” Conservatory in Milan with the mark 10 out of 10. During myConservatory years, I took part in the first contest in my field – “Assami” –which I also won. I made also my debut in the opera – “The Beggar’s Opera” byJohn Gay, in the year 2009.The following year I made my theatre debut, this timeinterpreting the part of Carolina in the opera “Il matrimonio segreto” byDomenico Cimarosa, directed by Paolo Rossi, and conducted by Daniel Martinez.This part was performed in the year 2010, following my awardin the “Concorso comunità europea per giovani contanti lirici” (EuropeanCommunity Competition for Young Opera Singers), the president of the jury beingElena Obraztsova.Again in 2010, came the opera “Elisir d’amore” by GaetanoDonizetti – in which I played the part of Adina – at the “A. Belli” Theater ofSpoleto, in Perugia, conducted by Carlo Palleschi. The same opera was alsoperformed at the“Carlo Felice” Theatre in Genoa, directed by Filippo Crivelli,the conductor being Christopher Franklin.During the course of 2010 I performed in the opera “Servapadrona” by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi – in the part of Serpina – in anAntique Villa of Piacenza, followed by a concert-performance, in the samelocation, of the opera “La Traviata” by Giuseppe Verdi – in which I played therole of Violetta.2010 was an intense year, as I took part in competitionssuch as “Magda Olivero”, 4th edition (Milan) and the competition “PremioNazionale delle Arti”, Cuneo (2010).Throughout 2009 – 2011 I also performed in a series ofconcerts in Italy and internationally:• China – Shanghai – 2010 – Concert for EXPO • Rusia – Sankt Petersburg – Hermitage Theatre – orchestralconcert, conducted by M.Liljefors• Africa – Pretoria and Johannesburg – lyric concert at the“Musaion Hall University” • Athens – concert of music by Puccini at “The Basil andMarina Theocharakis Foundation”• Avignon – concert at the theatre • Paris, London – various concerts given at the Embassy ofItaly • Spoleto – orchestral concert honouring 50 years of careerof maestro Renato Bruson• Milan – orchestral concert for Magda Olivero’s anniversaryat the San Babila Theatre • Busseto – concert of music by Verdi at the Giuseppe VerdiTheatre I performed in various orchestral concerts at the ScalaTheatre, and in 2011 I won the competition for parteciping in “Accademia Teatroalla Scala” - Milan, where I studied with important maestros andinternationally acclaimed singers such as: Mirella Freni, Luciana Serra, RenatoBruson, Luis Alva, Vincenzo Scalera, James Vaughan.In 2012 I made my debut at the Scala Theater – in “DonPasquale”, conducted by Enrico Mazzola and directed by Jonathan Miller.In 2013 in Verona at the Philharmonic Theatre, I performedas Giulietta in Verdi’s opera “Un giorno di regno”, directed by Pier LuigiPizzi, and conducted by Stefano Ranzani. Still in 2013, at theLyrical Theatre of Cagliari, I made my debut in the semi-staged performance of“La Traviata”, in the role of Violetta, conducted by Cristiano del Monte, anddirected by Simone Latini.During my professional development period, I tookpart in numerous master-classes with Daniela Dessi, Fabio Armiliato, LucianaD'Intino, Norma Fantini, Vasile Moldoveanu, Maria Slatinaru Nistor, MariellaDeviaIn the spring of 2013 I was the winner of the “Premio EttaLimiti Competition"  – Milan. in  September 2013 I made my debut in ScalaTheater in “Scala di seta” by Rossini as Giulia2014 October -“Don Giovanni” as Donna Anna by W.A.Mozart –Craiova Opera TheaterConcert in Bucharest and Brasov in Sala Palatului with“Johann Strauss Ensemble – The best of Vienna”, conducted by Russell McGregor2015, January – “Don Giovanni” as Donna Anna by W.A.Mozart –Craiova Opera Theater2015 – June I won the International Competition “Toti dalMonte”, Italy2015, October - “Don Giovanni”as Zerlina – “Theater Mariodel Monaco”, Treviso2016, February -“Don Giovanni” as Donna Anna – “NationalOpera Iasi”, RomaniaUpcoming performances:  2016, December -"Die Lustige Witwe" as Valencienne by F.Lehar -  Petruzzelli Theater, Bari 2017, February -  "Anna Bolena" - as  Anna Bolena by G.Donizetti - Allee Theater,HamburgContact: mail: letitia.vitelaru@gmail.com ; Rogoredo Street27 P Milan, 20138
