Hire Leah Gordon ›
«"But the queen of the evening is Leah Gordon as Leïla: her prima-donna appearance, her brilliant coloratura and her masterful portato are reminiscent of the legendary Joan Sutherland."»
-Uwe Mitsching for "Bayerische Staatszeitung" (translated from the original in German) (2016)
«"But the highlight of the whole performance was Leah Gordon as Rachel. Not only did the soprano deliver a very strong female character with many emotional facets, she also sings beautifully. Her powerful, round, radiating-from-the-inside voice has a beautiful, luscious bottom, shaping the long lines with enormous variety; gently asking and, as well dramatically despairing, then swinging effortlessly up to wonderfully luminous heights. Just great!»
-Renate Freyeisen for "Opernnetz" (translated from the original in German) (2016)
«"Canadian Leah Gordon won every moment with the maturity of her singing. Perfect in shades of intensity, she gently modulated the velvety timbre of her voice, and at the same time achieving accuracy in every note of the Countess, from a simple secret to a deep cry."»
-Emmanuel Andrieu for "Opera Online" (translated from the original in French) (2016)
«"In der französischen Oper des 19. Jh. hat die kanadische Sängerin in den letzten Jahren jenes Repertoire gefunden, in dem ihre Qualitäten am besten zur Geltung kommen. Auch als Leila konnte sie mit ihrer dunklen und doch koloraturgewandten Stimme und der hervorragenden Diktion glänzen, weil sie lyrische Erhabenheit und perlende Virtuosität vereinte. Das Publikum feierte sie am Ende des Abends zu Recht."»
