JULIE JACKSON  is a Houston-based soprano who is at ease performing locally or abroad.
She has been featured as the soprano soloist in Mozart’s Requiem and C minor Mass with the Woodlands Symphony Orchestra and Texas Southern University Orchestras, respectively. International studies lead to performances with Centro Studi Lirica in Novafeltria, Italy under the direction of Joan Patenaude-Yarnell and the Franco American Vocal Academy in Salzburg, Austria.
​Closer to home, Mrs. Jackson performs regularly with  Houston Ebony Opera Guild, Houston Gilbert and Sullivan Society, and Opera in the Heights.​​A Baytown, TX native, Mrs. Jackson holds a Master of Liberal Arts in Music (Voice) from the University of St. Thomas as well as a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Houston.  Featured roles include Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance and
Madame Goldnertrille in Mozart's Der Schauspieldirektor. She has sung solo roles in
The Ghosts of Versailles, Street Scene, and Rinaldo, and was involved in productions of
Cherubin, Il Turco in Italia, Eugene Onegin, Die Fledermaus, Der Freischutz, Miss Havisham's Fire, and The Love for Three Oranges.

Mrs. Jackson has had the privilege of participating in composer Eric Genuis' Tour for Hope in the fall of 2018.  The extensive tour brought music of hope, dignity, and beauty to prisons, schools, homeless shelters, veterans, and hospitals in North Dakota and southwest Texas and Louisiana. On stage, Mrs. Jackson made her professional debut as Giovanna in Opera in the Heights' 2014 production of Rigoletto. The following year saw her role debut in the Houston Gilbert and Sullivan's production of The Pirates of Penzance as Edith. She has also covered the roles of Josephine and Aline in the company's productions of H.M.S Pinafore and The Sorcerer, respectively.


Mrs. Jackson is happily married to Houston Brass Band tuba player Ali Jackson.
