Julian Debreuil has sung for companies across the UK and Europe such as English National Opera, Welsh National Opera, Ravenna Opera Festival, Theatre l'Italienne de Cherbourg, Festival de La Vezerre, Festival de Bourgogne, Theatre du Passage de Neuchatel, Iford Arts Opera, Theatre de l'Opera de Brive, Opera Project UK, London Soho Theatre, London Charring Cross Theatre and the Salmiya Opera Theatre. Recent roles include Filippo in Don Carlo, Banquo in Macbeth, Masetto & Il Commendatore in Don Giovanni, Don Basilio & Bartolo in Il Barbiere di Sivigilia, Zuniga in Carmen, Colline in La Boheme and Lorenzo in I Capuleti ei Montecchi. On the concert platform Julian has performed the major works by Verdi, Rossini, Durufle, Faure, Bach, Handel, Haydn, Mozart, Brahms, Vaughan Williams, Elgar, Britten, Walton, Tippett and Stravinsky with orchestras such as The Philharmonia, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, London Handel Players, London Mozart Players, London Festival Orchestra and Hamburg Symphony Orchestra. He is the recipient of major awards from The Royal Society of Musicians of Great Britain, Musicians Benevolent Fund, Wingate Foundation, English Speaking Union, Benslow Music Trust, Countess of Munster Trust and the Josephine Baker Trust. As a student Julian was a finalist in the Royal College of Music English Song and German Lieder competitions as well the Hampshire Singer of the Year and the John Warner Memorial Singing Competitions. More recently he was once again chosen as a finalist in the prestigious 2016 Schubert Society of Britain, held at London's Austrian Cultural Forum. Future engagements this year and in 2017 include Haydn's Missa Sancti Nicolai with the Spanish Place Consort, Vaughan Williams' A Sea Symphony with the Hull Philharmonic, Beethoven's Missa Solemnis with the Hull Bach Choir, Haydn's Die Schoepfung with the Cervantes Sinfonia, Briano in Verdi's Aroldo with UCOpera at the Theatre Royal Stratford, Colline in Puccini's La Boheme at The Mac Theatre Birmingham and the Harrogate Theatres Collective.
