Update: September 2014. www.josefsuilen.com &hellip”Mr. Suilen conducted his orchestra the way an artist wields his paint brush, alternating soft pastel shades with bright and vivid colors. “ …”Under the baton of this unique, magic conductor (he is a secret tip..!) who let music lovers fettered at their chairs.”   Unanimously considered by audiences, musicians and orchestras as an inspiring, thrilling, highly musical and powerful conductor. His modern, authentic approach to leadership evokes enthusiasm of the orchestra musicians. After studying – and graduating cum laude - at the Conservatory (Music Academy) of Amsterdam Josef Suilen pursued his study at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, London undder the guidance of Bernard Haitink and Carlos Kleiber. Well known soloists speak with enthusiasm about the cooperation with him, as there are among others, Stephan Dohr, Markus Stockhausen, KS Iordanka Derilova, Galia Ibragimova, Kaludi Kaludov, Romain Bischof, Wolfgang Manz, Jaap van Zweden, Nabuko Imai, Frances-Marie Uitti. He held the position of chief conductor of the Brabant Chamber Orchestra - with this orchestra he performed in the Efes Festival, Turkey -  the Nijmegen University Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Netherlands Army Band. He has conducted a lot of European orchestras as guest conductor: Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, NL, Limburg Symphonic Orchestra, NL, Brabant Symphonic Orchestra, NL, Het Gelders Orchestra, NL, Zeeland Symphonic Orchestra, NL, Bochum Symphony Orchestra, D, Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra, CZ, State Opera Ukraine, UA, State Opera Bulgaria, BG. September 2012 he made his successful debut at the Bombay Chamber Orchestra in Mumbai, India. Tremendously enthusiastic response of musicians and audiences. He was principal conductor of the International Opera Production Company in the Netherlands. Josef Suilen was Music Director of the major musical production 'Les Miserables" in Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Especially the musical part of this production was internationally praised in press and public. The production was crowned with lots of prizes. Highlights in his career are also his performances on the international opera podia. With his recent opera performances of among others Zauberflöte, Fidelio, Il Trovatore, Aida, Tosca, Cavaleria Rusticana in Odessa, Ukraine and Plovdiv, Bulgaria he gained resounding personal success. Originally trained as a “Master of Clarinet”, the conductor Josef Suilen has the craftsmanship to effect terrific ensemble play and he has the talent to lead orchestras into magnificent interpretations. His clearness, precision, musical temperament, expressivity, leadership and warm personality has been lauded again and again by musicians and audiences.   The under mentioned short selection of latest press reviews testifies to his class: … “compared to other guest conductors this season: this is a born leader…and great musicianship!" All the elements to get a nice performance of the Symphony in C major by Bizet were present: transparency, wonderful soloists, precision, balance, and last but not least: musical sense...”(Ruhr Nachrichten, D). …“This finely structured orchestra understands the early 20th century music very well.It has a transparent and rich sonority…Many thanks to the elegant and distinguished conductor Josef Suilen who performed all the lines unforgettable.”(Kusadasi -Ephesus News, TR) …”What a deeply interpreted performance!”… with passion, energy and clearness…huge response from musicians and audiences…”(Times of India) …”How fantastic this orchestra sounds under the baton of maestro Josef Suilen…very impressive……Musicality, depth, emotion, it was all there…”(Independent Mumbai, India) …”The choruses also he brought out wonderfully. The sonorous and homogeneous sound of the priests against the subtle sharpness of the women choir (during the praying to the God Ftha) make the temple scene – in which the blessing of the battle will be begging – a profound emphatic interreligious climax. In terms of dynamics and volume the whole remains perfectly balanced.” (News.bg) …”Maestro Suilen and the orchestra impressed audiences with a stunning reading of Strawinskys Firebird Suite…standing ovations…”(News Bulgaria, BG)   Repertoire Concert     Andriessen H Kuhnau Variations Symphonic Etude for orchestra   Bach J.C.
