    Conductor Jordan Cohen, a native of Los Osos, California, has conducted in various cities across the country from San Fransisco to Miami. Most recently, he has been Guest Conductor of Florida International University Symphony Orchestra and has held Assistant Conductor positions at the Miami Summer Music Festival and Opera San Luis Obispo in California. He was assistant to Music Director Scott Yoo and Executive Director Battina Swigger in the widely acclaimed Festival Mozaic for the 2013 and 2014 seasons. He has also performed in masterclasses with distinguished conductors including James Judd, Lior Shambadal, Giancarlo Guerrero, and David Effron.

    His talents have also claimed international regard. In 2014, Jordan worked with the National Youth Orchestra of the Dominican Republic. In 2014 and 2015, he conducted the Berlin Sinfonietta in Germany as part of the distinguished International Masterclasses Berlin at the personal invitation of the ensemble’s renowned chief conductor, Lior Shambadal. In March 2016, he will claim residence in Berlin as he accepts the Guest Conductor position for Berlin’s Alltagsoper’s upcoming productions including Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel. Other upcoming international engagements include performances of Brahms’ Deutsches Requiem and Symphony No. 4, Mozart’s Symphony No. 40, and Schubert’s Symphony No. 4 in Berlin during the winter of 2016.

    Mr. Cohen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theory and Composition as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Medieval Studies from the University of California, Davis. He has also attained his Masters of Music in Orchestral Conducting at Florida International University under the directions of Maestros Grzegorz Nowak (Principal Associate Conductor of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra) and Carlos Riazuelo (Louisiana State University).
