Korean conductor Jong-hun Bae is becoming recognized as a rising conductor. As his conducting career has been growing internationally, Mr. Bae has conducted in many countries including Austria, England, Republic of Korea, Romania, and USA. In the United States, he has conducted orchestras in numerous cities including New York, Boston, Baltimore, and Denver. Whether presenting new works by living composers or breathing new life into the traditional repertoire, he shows his accomplished musicianship and enthusiastic commitment to both audiences and musicians. Currently Mr. Bae is the Resident Conductor of the Salt Lake Symphony and the Guest Conductor of the Utah Youth Orchestras & Ensembles. In addition, he holds positions as the Principal Guest Conductor of the TIRO Symphony Orchestra and the TIRO Youth Orchestra in Republic of Korea. Prior to his positions in Utah, he has assisted the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the Baltimore Opera Company, the Peabody Chamber Opera, and the Peabody Conservatory of Music Orchestras, where he earned his Graduate Performance Diploma in Orchestral Conducting under the tutelage of Gustav Meier. He also has assisted renowned conductors including Marin Alsop, Anton Armstrong, Christian Badea, Oliver von Dohananyi, and Hans Graf. He was personally invited by a composer Catherine Reid in NY to conduct a World Premiere performance of her works: “A Collection in Concert” and the opera “The Yellow Wallpaper.” In addition to his conducting career, Mr. Bae is recently appointed as Vice-President  of the International Culture Diplomatic Mission at The International Relief Organization in Republic of Korea with his life-long interests in education (especially girl’s education), nurturing, and caring for children in Southeast Asia and Africa.
